The hotel is in a good location, right next to the main street. It takes 20 minutes to walk downhill to the beach. It's nice to watch the sunset on the beach. There are shops and restaurants on both sides of the main street. The hotel itself feels like an upgraded version of a motel, with an American family style interior. Parking is available on the roadside in front of the hotel. The service staff are quite enthusiastic and the overall price/performance ratio is pretty good.

The guy at the front desk was very helpful and helped us find a place to park. The hotel also provides free bicycles for guests only, which made it easier for us to get to the beach in time to watch the magnificent sunset.

Super beautiful town, super beautiful hotel, American style. The location is also super good, very close to the main street, and you can also borrow bicycles. The room is very clean, I like it very much

I really like the style of this B&B. It's located in the center of town and should be convenient for dining and shopping, so I booked it. Before going there, I was worried about parking, as parking in Carmel is notoriously difficult. I don't want there to be a parking lot not far away, so I'm very satisfied with everything. There's really nothing to eat except breakfast. Of course, it’s okay to be full.

This hotel is marketed as a 4-star property, but in my opinion it feels closer to a 3-star experience. Extremely overpriced for what you get. The design is charming, although some of the décor feels a little mismatched. The location is good—quiet and convenient—and, unless you have noisy neighbors, the rooms are generally peaceful. Since the building has an older motel-style layout, I would recommend requesting an upstairs room if possible because you will hear everything from upstairs. The greeting at the reception upon arrival was not professional at all and I would swap a free glass of rose for helpful, guest centric staff. Our reading light was not working and they couldn't even provide a light bulb. The biggest disappointment was the sleeping quality. Bed, pillows and sheets are low quality and did not provide a good sleep. Also false advertising the rain shower. The rooms have a low bathtub and a fix shower head on the wall. On the positive side, the breakfast was very good and the breakfast staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, making the morning a highlight of our stay.

I recently stayed at Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave in Carmel, and unfortunately the experience did not meet the standard I expected from this property. The stay began poorly. Although check-in is listed as 3:00 p.m., our room was not ready until approximately 4:15–4:20 p.m. After finally getting into the room, I requested an additional rug and towel because the bathroom floor had become wet after showering. Instead of simply providing the items requested, the maid repeatedly came in and out of the room, creating unnecessary disruption and slamming the door in a way that felt aggressive and unprofessional. To make matters worse, she did not even leave the requested towel and mat. So, I had to walk to the front desk and ask for the items, so that I would have a clean towel. Now let’s talk about the room. The room looks great. However, it has significant noise issues. The walls are paper thin. You can literally hear the upstairs and adjacent neighbors walking around. I have never stayed in a luxury hotel where you can literally hear people walking. Not acceptable. In order to sleep, I had to use the white noise soundtrack on Spotify. Now let’s talk about the breakfast. Let me be clear, I never expect much from a free breakfast. The only thing I really need is coffee, so that I can get my day started. Well, good luck. For some reason, the hotel has decided that instead of having drip coffee readily accessible, through a carafe, or someone who can pour it for you. I had to wait for 15 minutes, until I finally found a café staff person, who eventually went to the back and poured me some drip coffee. Not ok, for an upscale hotel. Overall, the stay was disappointing across several basic hospitality points: delayed room readiness, poor handling of a simple guest request, disruptive service, noise issues, and disorganized breakfast service. I understand that hotels can have occasional operational challenges, but the combination of these issues materially affected the quality of the stay. You can find much better hotels in Carmel, at way better prices.

Our experience at this Petit Pali was shockingly awful. To start, our room was not ready until after 4 o’clock ( although the check-in is at 3 PM). As we finally got our room at about 4:15- 4:20 PM, we asked for an additional rug and a towel, as I regrettably got the floor wet while taking the shower. What we got instead of the towels, was a person frantically running in and out of our room and slamming the door angrily ( a reminder, we asked for a rug and a towel, not for a cleaning service). We finally went to the front desk requesting that we just get what we asked for and not have anyone come back anymore. At night, the walls proved very thin, and we heard our neighbors as if they were in our room. If you are on the first floor, you will also hear your upstairs neighbors very, very clearly. In the morning, the breakfast and the coffee service were also hectic and disorganized. It is possible that the hotel is understaffed, but it took over 20 minutes to get just a regular cup of coffee. Finally, as I was checking out, expressing my concerns, including about the late check-in, I got no apology whatsoever. In short, it is hard to believe that this was a Paligroup property!

We loved our stay here. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff was attentive and kind. Breakfast was outstanding. The only shortcoming was the noise. We could hear the people above us moving around. It sounded like they rearranged the furniture hourly.
