Stilwell Hotel

The room was clean. Breakfast is ok not great.

Right in the heart of Carmel by the sea. Room was comfortable. Breakfasts are outstanding. Last night here, we stayed out by the fire pit and ordered 2 pizzas and some salads with our own bottles of wine. Seriously. It was GREAT!

The staff were so accomodating, the rooms were stylish, the decor was modern, the beds were super comfy, showers great pressure. The breakfasts were out of this world with beautiful bite sized plates ranging from eggs to salads to fruit salad etc. Of an evening drinks and home made cheese platters as well as home made pizzas were available around gas fire pits. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

First time in Carmel and the Stilwell did not disappoint!! The accommodations were lovely: comfort and attention were given to every part of our stay. It made for a truly special guest experience, The room is modern, yet welcoming with true charm. The breakfast is probably the most amazing selection of delicious and healthy delights I have ever seen!! I’m not kidding; you will dream about it for weeks after you leave. The shared spaces on property are so cozy and charming - from the fire pits, to waterfalls features, the delicious wood fired pizzas and fresh blankets (even for your dog)…no detail was forgotten at this place! The staff is a delight, the location is perfection - I honestly don’t have a thing I would change or ask to add. If you are lucky enough to come to Carmel - BOOK THIS PLACE!!

The Stilwell is a modern relaxed slice of heaven. It was a wonderful home-base for out weekend getaway to Carmel. Ideally located at the edge of everyplace you want to be. Very walkable just 2 blocks off Ocean (main drag for shopping, restaurants and galleries). Staff was warm, incredibly friendlyand helpful. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms were beautiful and the courtyard was great to relax and hang out by the fire after dinner. Everything was very walkable yet the area around the hotel was quiet and felt very safe. Breakfast had a great selection. I am dairy free and was able to find plenty to eat each morning. The staff was very kind and accommodated all of our requests. I highly recommend this hotel if in Carmel and hope to be back soon!

Pretty unhappy with our short experience. The hotel is pretty and the rooms luxurious, however, the guest experience did not match my expectations. The $1000+ courtyard suite is adjacent to the lounge area, so we heard conversation right outside our window until after 10pm. There was no effort to ask the group to move to another spot that would have been less disruptive, despite my ask to the front desk. We were charged $50 extra per child for our family of 2 adults and 2 children for a suite that has two rooms and two king beds. They have 4 charging stations for EV’s, however parking is not enforced. There were non EV vehicles parked in those spaces the entirety of brief stay, so unfortunately we were inconvenienced by not being able to charge at a planned stopping point on our road trip. Next time I come to Carmel I’ll be researching alternatives.
