I had a "Late Check-in" and arrived at 12:45am on WEDS April 17th. The Room Key and info envelope for #30 was under the room mat and all was good... Until I noticed the parking pass in the envelope… so I walked outside (it is now 1:00am) to place the park pass on the vehicle dashboard and I walked back to Room 30, only to discover I had walked outside to the parking lot - without the ROOM KEY-CARD! After a bit of near-panic (Ha!), I found the guest phone by the office and called and your overnight-manager Michelle was there in 3 mins to let me back in my room. We discovered that her Master Key card was not opening Room 30 as well – so she excused herself quickly to make a new master key… returning to let me back in the room very promptly! I was so apologetic and embarrassed to tell you the truth!! As if that was NOT terrific enough service by Michelle… there is more to the story! I discovered I had left my PC bag in the car and thought it was much safer to go grab it and store it in the room - so I went out to the car (approx 1:20am) one more time WITH my room key this time however, but when I returned and tried using the card keys, I found BOTH of then did not work! Goodness – I seriously dreaded calling Michelle yet again for her help – but I had no choice. Once again Michelle was there to Room 30 in like 2 mins and seeing that my keys didn’t work thought that something might have happened while she was re-programing her master key during the 1st trip to help me out. She went to the office very quickly and shortly within 2 mins was back with 2 fresh keys, just as pleasant as can be and just as polite as the 1st time! I cannot share how well she helped and handled my situations of near disaster arriving in those early hours….not once – but twice! THANK YOU Svendsgaard's & Inns-by-the-Sea for having such a terrific staff employee/night time manager! And please tell Michelle… that I owe her a box of dark chocolates for her unbelievable assistance!
