Monte Verde Inn

I loved this hotel. From the warm greeting by Casey, to the breeze through our door dutch, and the ease of getting everywhere, this was the perfect hotel. We drove 12 minutes from MRY airport to the heart of this charming town for five blocks on Ocean Boulevard to our hotel. We immediately began our stroll through the uneven sidewalks while gazing at the fairytale cottages and what we were going to eat next. We reserved a Standard Queen and were located across the street at Monte Verde East. At first I was disappointed, but it may have been better as our Dutch Door opened up to a view, we had wrought iron table and chairs with a pot for fresh flowers outside our room, and we parked right in front of our door. The room comes with complimentary sherry and Lindt dark chocolate -- each night. There was also a large mini fridge with a freezer. Two robes and basic bathroom amenities. There was a decent size closet and two drawers for clothes. There was plenty of room for two people. My favorite part was the basket delivered to our room everyday by 8:30am -- usually earlier. I thought it was just going to be a small offering but there was plenty of food. We never ate it all. There was a warm bagel, warm English muffin, two yogurts, a tangerine, an apple, a banana and a bell jar of orange juice. While I must admit I would have liked some variety, I think these are the safest breakfast offers. I also would have liked breakfast served earlier, but I'm sure I'm in the minority as an early riser. After day one, I stored part of my basket in the fridge to enjoy at 6am while waiting for the warm bagel to arrive at 8:15am. Oh, and the coffee at reception is much better than what's in your room. Same coffee, just brewed in a different pot. The office opens at 8am to get a cuppa. There is some noise in the early morning for street clean-up. Must be why ear plugs are provided, but the noise was temporary and I was able to fall back asleep. After touring the town this is by far the best location. Book it and enjoy your stay.

Small room with thoughtful redecoration. It feels like home. Great breakfast and other amenities. Would stay again.

I wish there was info that pur room is in a separate building across from the main hotel, otherwise stay was good.

The staff was excellent. The room was clean, but the flow of water,Out of your sink was really poor and the time it took to get hot water was way too long.

This was THE cutest inn I have ever stayed. Casey the front desk manager was so kind, welcoming and informative. The rooms are cozy and quaint and perfect for anyone. I would stay here 100 times again

We’ve been to Carmel a couple times before but have never stayed at Monte Verde Inn. We picked this hotel because we needed to bring our small dog, it’s centrally located walking to the beach and restaurants. This hotel is really cute and quaint and everyone was very friendly. They even bring a breakfast basket in the morning to your room. I would definitely stay here again.

Carmel is our happy place & we frequent it regularly. We stayed in Monte Verde Inn for the 1st time, & we really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The location right in the middle of everything is the best! Add to it the simple, clean & cozy ambiance. Oh, the dedicated parking is a plus. Owners & staff were warm & friendly. Highly recommend.
