Horizon Inn & Ocean View Lodge

The Horizon Inn & Ocean View Lodge was amazing. We had the best experience at this lodge. It is dog friendly and our dogs had an amazing time. The staff is very nice and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in a cottage suite, which was spacious and very comfortable for three of us. We had a great time, and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was also a special touch--staff brought us breakfast every morning to our door. I would absolutely come back.

A really lovely hotel with friendly service. Room was a good size and had everything you needed for a pleasant stay . Our room also had a view over the Ocean which was a bonus. The hot tub was lovely in the cooler evenings plus the fire pit was great. The basket breakfast was a bit hit and miss. The first day orange juice, cinnamon pastry and fruit. The next day a bread roll, hard boiled egg and banana. Not the best! Location was fantastic for all Carmel has to offer with a fantastic beach, restaurants and shopping experience. Not many towns have a Tiffiany’s! Finally a shout out for the front desk . A happy pair with lots of great advice on what to see and do!

- Terrible Breakfast. I have never seen such a crappy breakfast anywhere. One banana for the two of us ? Two hard boiled eggs ? Their description says ＞＞Free Continental Breakfast＜＜ -- if you claim this, please provide something decent. It is not hard to provide a small pack of basic cereal, oatmeal, orange juice -- which are all basic -- nothing fancy about it. If not, please simply mention that breakfast is really really basic and we will not feel misled. Sorry ! - Otherwise - room was clean, good sized, location is fine - but then Carmel is tiny - any location will be fine.

My adult son and I traveled the coast highway from Los Angeles to Carmel this past weekend. We previously stayed here in 2021. We were not disappointed in our return. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is an easy walk to many excellent restaurants. A wonderful place to stay.

Had a great stay at Horizon for 3 nights, our second stay. Pam and staff were welcoming and very helpful in planning our brief Carmel visit. Location within walking distance to shops, restaurants and shops. Accommodations were spacious and clean with Ocean view balcony and gas fireplace. Enjoyed a couple of hot tubs in peaceful courtyard with fire pit at night. Breakfast basket delivered to door every morning was healthy and delicious. Can't wait for our next visit!

Horizon Inn was such a wonderful hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were a nice size with comfortable beds. They have a happy hour from 4-6pm offering local wines and cheeses. They also provide breakfast to you in a basket at your door with great options such as bagels & cream cheese, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, yogurt, and juice. The hotel is about a 10min walk to the main shops on Ocean Ave. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back.

We went to Carmel By The Sea for an overnight getaway. Check-in was a breeze - the front desk staff was quick, efficient, cheerful and friendly, and the one issue we brought up with the room (we were missing the champagne we ordered with the romantic package) was swiftly corrected. We stayed in one of the cabins across the street, which was very nicely and comfortably appointed throughout. The patio includes a fireplace and hot tub, beautifully arranged. The location is convenient, at the top of the hill - the main ***** through town is a short few blocks' walk downhill, and the beach another several blocks down. It's also very convenient to Highway 1, and provides a good starting point for excursions into Monterey or Point Lobos further south. All-in-all, it was a delightful, relaxing stay, and contributed significantly to the great first impression we got of Carmel By The Sea. See you next time!

All around excellent experience. The staff was super friendly. Housekeeping was prompt and did a great job in the room but they were never pushy. The front desk team was very helpful and professional. The rooms are nice, I stayed in two different ones due to availability over three nights and both rooms were great. Very clean, well stocked, spacious, nice patio/deck spaces. The shared hot tub/firepit area is a nice feature, good onsite parking. The waterfill station was legit, I wish more hotels had this type of machine. The picnic basket breakfast in the morning was great. Saves $ from the pricey restaurnats/cafes in town, they were a little different each day, fresh, well balanced. Wine and cheese happy hour every day with wines that are actually good. Not just cheap grocery store wines. They poured 5 different wines from Folktale Winery, all good stuff! Good location, just a few blocks from Ocean Ave but in a quiet area. It's slightly uphill but as a result some of the rooms have really nice ocean views, which is somewhat rare for Carmel hotels. They ownership and staff clearly make a point to install features and services that are well thought out, helpful, value adding, and appreciated. I will definitely stay here again.
