We've just returned from a fabulous weekend spent here with 42 members of our driving club. We had 3 amazing evening meals and the staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and the attention to detail was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return.

This was our second visit to the hotel and we again thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated in a lovely location and offers wonderful views over the dales. The staff are a real asset to the hotel, providing ideas of where to visit and they were always so cheerful, friendly and helpful. We ate at the hotel for breakfast and evening meals. The food is locally sourced and cooked well. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

All staff were very welcoming. Very clean throughout the hotel. Room was lovely. Dinner on both nights was delicious. Particularly the treacle bread which was made in house. I was given the recipe and tried it when I got home. Not as good as the hotel but still edible. A particular thank you to Mary ( or was that Matilda?).

First time at this excellent hotel. Can’t fault it. Our room was comfortable and well equipped. The bed comfortable and bathroom modern and everything clean, The staff without exception were helpful, friendly and efficient. The hotel itself enjoys wonderful views, a lovely garden area with tables and has plenty of communal space and comfortable bar for guests. Good parking. The restaurant is comfortable and tables well spaced but, exceptionally, the evening menu totally changed every day (we were there five nights). Made dining in a pleasure and the food was well presented and consistently high quality. Breakfasts were equally good with a wide choice. We thought the hotel prices very reasonable for such high standards. We have stayed at many hotels similar to this one over many years and Stone House ranks amongst the very best, if not the best. For us it just got everything right.

Just returned from a two day stay, what a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Great for walks and just a stone throw to browse the shops. Staff very friendly, rooms small but are very clean and tidy. and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast ok and plenty of choice. Evening meal. hats of to the chef. That was the nicest pie I have tasted in a long time. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks all for a lovely stay.

Our second visit to this lovely hotel. Staff friendly, bed v comfy. Location is simply beautiful. Food delicious. I would have given 5 stars except I think hotel full this time and small things were missed in dining room which were not first time , main one being v slow breakfast ( I think we were forgotten) 40 minutes, after giving order , had to remind and no bread offered at dinner. However had a lovely time would return

Great hotel, good bike storage, great breakfast, nice rooms and friendly staff. Stayed there to ride the Dales. Beautiful scenery and ridiculous hills! Would thoroughly recommend this place and also The Chipee in Hawes. Steer very clear of Hawes Pizza.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful area. We stayed first and last night while walking the Herriot away. Very nice, quiet and relaxing. We stayed in the classic king with nice view over the moor and sheep. Small room but comfortable and has everything you need. Lovely staff. Special thanks to Ruby who offered us a lift from Hawes! Would love to stay again.

I spent a very nice week here, doing some local walks. The hotel is in lovely countryside and very quiet. The staff are all most welcoming and very helpful. My room was fairly small, but perfectly adequate, and there are many other areas in the hotel where one can sit very comfortably. The bathroom was small, but also adequate, and spotlessly clean. Food was excellent. Breakfast was very good, including kippers which are a rarity nowadays. Dinners were excellent, with the menu changing daily. Plenty of choice for carnivores and vegetarians. Plenty of parking-space. Nothing to fault; highly recommended; I plan to return.
