Carthage Inn

Cute old motel. Actually loved the dated decor, but could use a litttle touch-up here and there. No frills. Host was friendly.

This is a lower budget motel, but it had a good old school vibe, and it was fun just for a little weekend trip to get away and check out a new spot. I can tell the owners take pride and are very hospitable. I went to the front desk and asked for blankets, and he informed me they were in the drawers. As soon as I got back to my room he was calling to make sure they were there and that I found them. It’s right down the street from Wal-Mart and there is a really good fast food Mexican restaurant called Amigo’s that is within walking distance

You have GOT to be kidding! I took and saved pictures in case they were some kind of scam and wanted to charge me for some of the damage. The room might have looked like the website photograph 20 or more years ago, it was false advertising to criminal fraud today. Chunks of ceiling plaster the size of my hand falling off in the shower. Bathroom exhaust fan rusted as far back the pipe as I could see. Actual holes in the walls. Veneer missing off the furniture. Handrails missing from stairs to the room and more. When I found myself in the same area the next night, I drove on to the next town and dealt directly with a hotel rather than risk another ******* partner property.

In my view this place is one night stay for emergency.

The Inn itself on the outside looks a bit run down, however the room was clean and accomodating. Breakfast is cereal and toast. The girl on the front desk is exceptional and made our stay more enjoyable.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very dirty, including a blood stain on the sheet. I wish that it had been clean so that I could say nice things about it. The people were very nice. The free breakfast was cereal and milk. We opted to eat out.

The place was clean.
