Uplands Inn Cartmel

We loved our one-night stay at the Uplands in early May. We were lucky with the weather and ate our dinner of the wonderful terrace watching the sun go down — what a fabulous location! The room was nice & the bed excellent. The young man and young lady serving in the bar/restaurant were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was outstanding with quality ingredients perfectly cooked. There were just two negatives: the shower in the Wes**orland room was terrible, barely more than a dribble and dinner could have been hotter when it arrived..

Warm, friendly welcome, smooth check in, great location, ample parking, beautiful room- gorgeous bathroom, lovely public bar area/lounge, fabulous dinner and breakfast . No negatives at all !! Returning for 5 nights soon looking forward to it. Lovely staff.

Fantastic room with a nice spacious bed and room on suite was spot on and the view is beautiful, the staff really friendly and helpful, breakfast was yummy with with all the trimmings, would recommend this place if staying in the lakes, will be looking to stay again in the near future

This is a brilliant place to stay. The room which we stayed in was called Lune which overlooked the countryside and in the distance Morecambe Bay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The lounge and dining areas are cosy and also have good views .The food is excellent and we would highly recommend the Uplands.

Fantastic position overlooking Car**el and Grange over Sands. Just 5 mins drive to either. Rooms are very spacious and very comfortable with everything you need. Great breakfast So dog friendly. The terrace is amazing with a fab view on a beautiful day.

We have just returned from the family run Uplands having had the most wonderful mother and daughter visit. We can’t thank Alan, Susan and their son Dylan enough for their hospitality, they made us feel very welcome and couldn’t be more helpful. When we arrived, we managed to check in slightly earlier than 3pm, we were shown to our room which was spotlessly clean and had a wonderful view of the countryside. Alan helped us to organise a taxi back to the hotel after a short walk into Car**el, as there were few taxis available. When we arrived back at the hotel we were greeted with a roaring fire and made to feel at home. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and really enjoyed their company. We even sat outside to see the stars as it was such a clear night. Overall our stay was faultless, we wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning and hope to enjoy an evening meal there! Everyone was very friendly, 10/10 recommend!

wonderful, high class location, with great staff, lovely food, and stunning views. They are so welcoming, and helpful. stunning interior, really gives this hotel a unique a**osphere, with real log fires. The staff were professional, helpful, and made us feel like one of the family. I would highly recommend a visit if your in the area.

The Uplands is a gem of a find in a beautiful location and the perfect place to stay for a visit to Car**el. The service throughout was excellent and the staff really couldn't of done anymore. The evening meal was delicious (steak followed by sticky toffee). The room was spacious with a great view of the garden and beyond. The bathroom was large with both a bath and separate shower. Large car park to the front too. Really couldn't of asked for a better place. We will certainly be returning int he warmer months to enjoy the outdoor seating area.

Been coming here a good few years now and always been spot on,nice food and drink and always clean and tidy,in the summer months the bbq they do in the beer garden is ace with stunning views for miles and miles,I’ve heard the room are very nice too but never stopped as we just live down the road. Also the Sunday roasts are a must 👌
