Super 8 by Wyndham Casa Grande

Check In was fine. Arrived to an open room. Found a used bandaid in the bathtub, no shower curtain and one bed had a stained sheet. Staff was quick to respond and everything was made right. My mom is 92 and she had a tough time getting in the bed due to it’s height. Booked hotel for two nights but they didn’t clean up the room the after the first night which I expected since there was no discount for the second night. Upon check out the staff gave us a small potted plant, I assume for a sorry for our problems. I recall booking breakfast but there are no breakfasts at all except for coffee and juice I was told there would be some small pastries but I never saw any either morning. Anyway it was like the second cheapest hotel in the area so I wasn’t expecting a great experience. Room was clean but needed some minor repairs. Overall a 2 in my book.

The cost of a hotel room for the night of Weds, 24th, in Casa Grande, AZ, was expensive, so, I chose a “slightly less” expensive hotel - which happened to be a Super 8 (I saw it was by Wyndham so I assumed (wrongly) that it would be better quality.) (In most other hotels, the cost would have made it a “good” hotel) - I didn’t expect the hotel to look so dingy, or that the carpeting would have dirt and other substances on it - both inside and outside the room. I also didn’t expect it to have NO elevator! This is 2024 - who doesn’t think an elevator is necessary - especially for those of us getting older. The lighting in the hotel room wasn’t particularly good, and the bathroom tub was really bad looking - so bad that my husband would not bathe in it. The towels were minimal - definitely not enough of them. The mattress was terrible! Hard as a brick and not good quality - if you touched the mattress on the side, it would start to slide off the bed. I’m sure there were other problems, but I can’t think of them at this time. The staff that we interacted with were fine, and unfortunately, the best part of this trip. I will never return to a Super 8.

The hotel is old and run down. The front desk clerk was also the house keeper. She wasn’t available at check in she was cleaning rooms. The bathroom was dirty. The linen had blood on it! The staff was nice when you could find them.

Location felt safe. On the downside, the shower was missing a shower curtain. I did request for a shower curtain but it was not installed. I also requested clean towels and did not receive any. The reason I did not insist was because we had a reception to go to.

My husband and I stayed at the Super 8 in Casa Grande, AZ on Saturday, 1/27/24. I inadvertently left an item in the room - 100% certain and I described exactly where I left it (next to the sink). Staff said they found nothing. Might want to check your staff for honesty issues. Someone took the item. Again, I am 100% sure I left it. Extremely disappointed.
