Fairway Forest

My wife and I enjoyed our time at Fairway Forest Resort May 10-17. Our 2-BR room was laid out quite nicely, and we were quite comfortable. We would definitely choose this place again.

The unit we stayed in had been recently renovated on the inside. Modern kitchen with everything you would need including a wine opener. Staff was very friendly, golf course was beautiful. We'll be back.

We had a recently remodeled two bedroom unit, and everything about it was very nice. Appliances worked well. It's worth being aware that the master bedroom & bath are downstairs from the main floor. That worked well for us. It's a very good location from which to access outdoor activities.

Overall, this is a nice property. Well maintained grounds, flowering trees and bushes make this a lovely stay and I did enjoy it. The condo is old. The furniture is old and worn. Shopping, groceries, coffee, etc., is very spread out over the area. I traveled in April so a lot of restaurants were closed and we had to eat in a lot. The kitchen is very basic with microwave, coffee make and toaster. There is no blender, crock pot or other cooking appliances and very few pans, if you like to make big family meals. There are zero starter items like cooking oil, spices so you need to buy or bring everything you think you need. As for the amenities shown at the property... The pool, work out area, games and hot tub are part of the community center and shared by other properties. They are well offsite, and open 9-5. I don't know about you, but after a long day or traveling or hiking or skiing, you want to come back and hot tub. Not possible. And you are charged a mandatory $20/day for 7 days whether you use it or not. I wasn't able to use any of it due to weather for boating and the beach and the very short hours so it was a complete waste of money. The onsite dining is also non existent. There is a brewery that caters to the golfers. It was closed when I tried to go there at 5:30pm. If you golf, you may enjoy this property more than I did. The check in was easy but the only time I saw anyone working at the property so not sure what to say about service. I'm sure if I had needed them they would be attentive. The condo is clean it's just very worn out and the linens were so-so. The beds were comfortable. It is a long drive with unending winding mountain roads so be alert when coming here.

Our room was very spacious and housekeeping had done a good job preparing it. The staff at the office was very welcoming. The unit itself has water damage that is not being addressed. The roof appeared to be in poor condition. The seals were broken on all of the front bedroom windows and were 80% cloudy. The bigness concern was the moldy water streaks on the living room wall. It could be a great community, but the management is not keeping the property in good condition.

This was the 1st time staying here. The unit was updated however the heat was not working correctly. Called for maintenance and was given a space heater. He did not even try to fix the issue. If you like hiking or golf it would be an ok place to stay. Very secluded.

We stayed for a week in a 2-bedroom remodeled unit. Everything was clean and comfortable. The location is a great spot half-way between Brevard and Highands, and provides easy access to lots of hiking and waterfalls. New $22/night resort fee was a little disappointing, since we didn't use any of the amenities, but it seems to be the trend, The resort sits on a golf course, but it was situated nicely in the woods with very little noise. We would definitely return to this resort if we travel to the area again.
