Very nice hotel

Magical place, with fabulous lake view, panoramic terrace where you can have breakfast while enjoying the view, quiet and peaceful area. A stone's throw from the historic center ... what about a perfect romantic getaway !!

Upon reception, after asking for the surname, they asked me if I would pay immediately, the room had peeling paint on the walls, and the wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom essentials were limited to a bar of soap and a bath cap for hair. But the worst thing was the bedroom window with shutters that didn't close and let the light filter in all night, there is no double curtain, we didn't sleep a wink.

Very nice structure, especially the terrace on which we had breakfast, overlooking the lake, very impressive!

Firstly I have to say this hotel is in a beautiful location. Secondly it’s the lovely staff that make this place. Unfortunately I arrived sick to this villa and they took care of me with such ease and were so helpful. They could not do enough. They were professional and courteous and I believe this is what makes a good management team. I cannot remember everyone’s names but it’s the lovely woman in reception and the other gentleman who helped me at the bar area with food or cappuccino early in the morning. Also I thank housekeeping as well for helping me with any of my needs. All in all I would recommend this hotel. As the better 5 star hotels in the area. Rooms are clean and there is a welcoming energy to everyone. Courteous and kind professional management means a lot to someone who was away on business and also was not very well… it’s just what I needed to make me feel more at home!!!! Thank you all :) So well done team!!! I recommend your hotel completely!!

Old building with dated decor and ideas. Simple room, comfortable bed. Great Lake view.No room service and no meals unless you are in a group. Simple breakfast with malfunctioning coffee machine. We were in a group,the dinners weren’t great, one being awful. Hazardous short walk into town. This hotel needs to rethink its act. Could be much better.

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend in May 2023. We were a bit apprehensive based on previous reviews but it was fine and good value for the money especially compared to the lodging prices in Rome. The room was basic and clean but definitely not fancy --- our lake view was lovely. The breakfast was also fine but nothing special. Most of the hotel staff was helpful although twice we had problems with the staff helping us to get a taxi. The hotel is in somewhat of a remote location, so if you don't have a car you really need to plan ahead in order to get a taxi as they're not roaming around and Uber doesn't work in Castel Gandolfo.

The hotel is old, the rooms are simple and the bathroom was worn out. The hotel is very well situated with a very nice view, but badly needs to be redecorated. Staff was not helpfull I would not reconmend this hotel.

Very cozy family hotel in a prime location with a view of Lake Albano! The centro storico is within easy walking distance, and the Pope's summer residence can be reached in no more than 15 minutes. Reception is very friendly and helpful! Alessia also speaks fluent German!

Spectacular. Upon entering the room you are surprised by impeccable elegance. The atmosphere is warmed by helpful and kind staff and breathtaking views. As for the food, plentiful and delicious dishes. I ate in this hotel for Christmas lunch which consists of the starter, two first courses, a second course, dessert followed by panettone and other sweets. I would definitely go back.

The hotel has an excellent position to reach the center of Castel Gandolfo on foot in exactly 5m and the center of Ariccia in 5m by car. The lady who welcomed us (I think she is the owner) is very nice and kind like all the staff. Cleanliness is impeccable.

The hotel is very beautiful and elegant; it is located in Castel Gandolfo and enjoys an excellent view of Lake Albano, which is why it is very quiet. The rooms are large and welcoming; even if they have some details to review. The breakfast is absolutely top notch; has a wide choice of high quality sweet and savory products. The staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is very convenient. The location is excellent as it is a few minutes walk from the center of Castel Gandolfo. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Castel Gandolfo.

3 night stay at the end of August as a couple. Wonderful. The rooms may not be 4 star standard but everything else is. A beautiful hotel and lovely staff. A rooftop swimming pool and a small solarium. Bar, lounges, terraces and breakfast room overlooking the lake. Prefer a lake view room. Small but good bedding. No safe but a mini bar. Bathroom OK but small shower. Be careful with body size. Ask for the size of the shower if necessary as not all rooms may be the same. Efficient housekeeping and smiling staff. The village of Castel Gandolfo is a 10-minute walk away. We went there in the evening for dinner. The hotel restaurant was closed. There are several small, typical Roman restaurants that are excellent and very affordable. No tourist traps here. Very decent breakfast with fresh fruit, sweet and savory. Eggs cooked to order and included. I don't understand the negative comments. It is not a 5 star luxury palace type but it is a real haven of peace with an incredible location overlooking the lake and the papal villa. Booking directly on the hotel website because it is cheaper than booking. 156€ per night for 2 people in a double room with lake view with breakfast. Free parking. Go there with your eyes closed! Excellent value for money at this price. Thank you very much we loved our stay.
