Wayside Cheer Hotel

I had arrived a week early for my stay but the hotel staff managed to find me a well appointed room at the front of the hotel and changed the booking for me with no Hassel. The staff really make this hotel and are very happy to help in anyway they can. The hotel is probably due an upgrade in a few areas but generally is clean and comfortable, Its next to a clean and mainly sandy beach , but no sea views. There is a bus stop two minutes from the hotel door.

A really friendly and welcoming hotel. The staff are all lovely and the food in the restaurant is fab. The breakfast is delicious and has just about everything you might fancy. The lunch and dinner menu is extensive, the fillet steak was on a par with high end restaurants we’ve experienced and we ate at the hotel on all 3 days. The room was clean, the bed huge and really comfy. Although we did not get a chance to try the pool, it looked clean and inviting. A hidden gem and a great find!

Whilst visiting family in Guernsey we chose the Wayside for a Sunday Carvery . The staff were friendly and attentive from start to finish. With my grandson in tow the kids meal was adequate. We had the Carvery good choice of meats i had a small selection of each . Some of the veg wasn’t as hot as we would have liked and the pork crackling was rock hard and uneatable. Apart from that we all enjoyed the meal and drinks and for Guernsey it was reasonably priced and would definitely recommend it and will visit again on our next visit. My only complaint was the table next to us was very close and the constant noise especially from one lady was quite annoying , by the end of the meal we knew about all her ailments and financial affairs.

great stay at this hotel, great location, well furnished rooms, spotlessly clean, lovely friendly staff, food excellent especially Breakfast. did have a problem one night with noise which was very professionally sorted by the owner.

The food here is amazing. All staff are very polite and make the effort to make convocation. The pool is always clean and very good for family’s of all ages. The chalets are always cleaned every morning and are suitable for anyone of any age these rooms even include a walking shower. Overall I would rate the whole please a 5/5 a very enjoyable holiday everyone is respectful the only thing I would change is for the bar to be opened a little bit earlier as it opens at 11

The jewel in the Crown here is Donna, she is a truly amazing host. If it weren't for her this would be less stars. It's a reasonably priced Hotel which is a little rough around the edges, but has alot of charm too. The food is good and reasonably priced. The pool is good. Not heated and no frills but still nice to have it. The great thing about the hotel is that the management are caring, nice and flexible. My biggest issue is that people are allowed to smoke so close to the rooms. We had a family of chain smokers who spent a lot of time immediately outside the front of the rooms. Our room smelt of smoke continuously. It was very hot but for that reason we had to close the Windows. Not great when you have kids. A simple no smoking outside the rooms rule would have prevented this. This really ruined our stay. We asked the families responsible not to smoke near our room but it was like talking to a brick wall. Shame.

Had a fabulous 4 night stay here , Hotel is clean and Breakfast and meals all excellent, staff friendly and attentive Donna is great as is Rose, although all staff nice. Location it is easy to get a bus from across the road and cheap. Beach close by, and there is a shop nearby too. Swimming pool ok little on the chilli side .Overall a good time had by all and would throughly recommend

I came on a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. In the mornings you can go for a run along the promenade or beach, then have a buffet breakfast. You can pre-order lunch to take with you the next day. The meals are great value for money and the rooms were nice and clean.The staff were very attentive and the manageress is a fantastic host.

We really enjoyed our mini break here to do some coastal walking.The location is beautiful with super clean beaches,gentle roar of the waves and amazing sunsets.The hotel has great staff attentive and friendly.We had all our evening meals here and they were delicious.It really was a refreshing break away.
