The Music Fable was a marvel, boasting a heavenly sound system, stunning decor, and breathtaking beach views. For the first time ever, I indulged in a bath with the enchanting beach stretched out before me. The suite I stayed was the epitome of allure, and we loved every second of our stay. The butler's service was nothing short of spectacular, making our experience truly unforgettable.

This hotel is an absolute con job -it is supposed to be a 5 star hotel - we struggled to find it as there was no hotel signage - we were met by a very unusual person called Tim on the footpath who ushered us into a tiny dingy front room - there were no other staff or customers- we felt extremely uncomfortable & definitely could not stay -we have alerted the police that this is a huge con & needs to be shut down.

One of the most unusual hotels we have ever stayed in: something of an extension of the decorative and musical tastes of Tim the owner. An interesting character with some interesting tales to tell. Our room was very well-appointed and the public areas display an eclectic collection of furnishings that give the whole place an inter-war jazz club feel. Only caveat would be the price: we were kindly upgraded to the Chopin Suite at the same tariff that we’d booked for a standard room, but we doubt that we would have paid the standard charge for that superior room. However, the customers still come, so Tim must know what he’s doing.

What a total disappointment. This is not a 5 star hotel in our view and overpriced for what you receive. You will be concerned to find the Music Fable has a noisy and busy dual carriageway passing right by its doorstep. Traffic can be clearly heard in your room day and night despite the ‘sound proofing’ they make a point of mentioning on their website. It sits at the end of a parade of old terraced beach front guest houses that are either dilapidated or, have seen better days. Not the best end of town, you might say. You will not see any photos of the outside of the Music Fable hotel (if you can call it a hotel) either on their website nor, on any online booking company. Maybe this is for good reason? Internal photos cleverly depict the quirky interiors. However, the outside is just 3 old terraced houses joined into one, with the brick façade painted black with gold window surrounds and cornices. There is no secure parking. You either park temporarily on the busy ‘yellow lined’ dual carriageway outside or, in a public car park 150 meters up the road that costs 6 pounds per day. We were feeding the meter here throughout our 4 night stay. Our two friends refused to stay there and found available rooms at the Marriott hotel a mile up the road. We were on a golf break together and the owner/manager Tim, told them his hotel was not suitable for Golfers, which surprised us and contradicted his website ‘Activities List’ that clearly states Golf is available nearby? We were shown 3 sea view rooms, all were small and very ‘guest house’ like. Each room is individually themed and quirky but, impractical for a comfortable stay. Our room had a bathtub in the living area, a bed with curtains to separate it from the living area, a tiny narrow toilet area (with blocked sink) situated behind a glass partition next to the bed. The whole feel was that of a small room with everything crammed in. There was insufficient space for hanging clothes. They provided just a large up-ended travel chest with miniscule hanging space. We had to either keep our clothes in our cases or, spread them around the living room hanging them over the furniture. All very disappointing for ‘5 star’ accommodation and being sold at a premium price. The services are not 5 star either. The reception/concierge is a cupboard room at the back where Tim sits outside in an armchair with his laptop at hand. If you want anything you have to ask for it, eg, drinking water, clean teacups and spoons, etc. Breakfast is optional and Tim told us we would get a better breakfast at the beach café up the road ? We saw 3 people throughout our stay and they were the staff ie, Tim, a friendly lady assistant and a room maid. Whilst Tim is polite and willing to help, the Music Fable falls way short of expectations and you feel rather conned by it all. We feel it is not worthy of recommendation nor, its 5 star status.

I honestly can’t recommend this hotel enough. As the reviews say it’s like marmite…. If you are after the ‘ Marriott bland 5 star experience’ this is not for you…. If you are after something unique and different then you will love this. Tim was the most wonderful unique interesting character and honestly made our break… we love music, we were there for an outdoor concert and to get the opportunity not only to stay in this very bespoke quirky Alliadins cave but to converse with this fascinating, well educated and special character just made our break - he couldn’t do enough for us and everything was just perfect. The room was so decadent and beautiful… from the luxurious roll top bath to the most comfortable gorgeous bed. Breakfast was amazing and again so unique…. WHO wants your standard full English? It fitted perfectly with the hotels ethos… we had the most exquisite omelette, with mushrooms asparagus and bacon. Absolutely beautiful and in the most gorgeous of settings. Tim we will definitely not forget how you made our weekend seeing Gerry so uniquely special …. Million pet ent we will return here and recommend it to all our friends who want the quirky bespoke personal…. Not the bland.

Stayed in seaview room, not only the room has a stunning view over the seaside, internally the interior has a lot of tastes. The owner must have put in a lot of effort and time to decorate it. The gound floor common area also has a great collection of records, the music sound is also good, probably due to speakers designed by the owner of the hotel. Generally you feel very cosy when you are inside the hotel.

We had a seaview room with a stunning view to the beach. The bed is very comfy with speaker pillars producing brilliant sound. The antique bathroom is exceptional. We enjoyed every moment of our stay there. Tim the owner is excellent in every aspect. Highly recommended.

The interior is designed with love for your inspiration. You will be greeted in a Victoria style room with fab music and a glass of champagne. Enjoy stunning views of Swansea Bay, a long stroll along the beach, amazing colors of the bay. Best!
