Return visit ..again It is one of the friendliest caring run establishment I've ever stayed in . Nothing is too much trouble and the breakfast is fabulous The hosts are welcoming and always on hand ...we will be back ..again Value for money and the atmosphere is great

I had a lovely stay at Carragh House, room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, very handy for the town centre, and a delicious breakfast. I had the warmest of welcomes, and the owners were so lovely, friendly and helpful. Highly, highly recommended!

A warm welcome, comfy beds and a hearty breakfast. What more could you want? Our hosts, Oonagh & Des, couldnât have been more welcoming and helpful. They really do go the extra mile for their guests. Carragh House itself is a lovely B&B within throwing distance of the bars, restaurants & amenities of Castlebar and a great place to stay when exploring this wonderful part of Ireland.

Nach vielen Irland Touren kĂśnnen wir sagen, dass das Carragh House eins der besten, wenn nicht das beste B&B ist, was wir erleben durften. Dazu eine absolute Empfehlung fĂźr Motorradfahrer! Wir kamen recht durchnässt in Castlebar an und wurden freundlichst empfangen, sogleich wurde uns ein Trockenraum fĂźr unsere nassen Sachen angeboten. Die Motorräder standen sicher geparkt auf dem abgeschlossenen GrundstĂźck. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und sehr sauber. Tägliche Reinigung und Handtuchwechsel inklusive. Das FrĂźhstĂźck ist der Hammer! Nicht nur das "Full Irish" ist wirklich frisch zubereitet, es gibt eine reichliche Auswahl an frischen Obst, MĂźsli und hausgemachten Marmeladen. Die Krone im Carragh House aber sind ganz klar die Inhaber. Des und Oonagh leben Gastfreundschaft! Es ist eine Freude die Beiden um sich zu haben, da kann die Laune fĂźr den Tag nur gut sein ... auch wenn es den ganzen Tag regnet. Jeden Morgen kommt Des mit seiner Landkarte an den Tisch und gibt die Tipps fĂźr Insider. SehenswĂźrdigkeiten, kleine MotorradstraĂen und sogar EinkehrmĂśglichkeiten gilt es von ihm zu erfahren. Dazu haben die Beiden die besten Pubs und Restaurants in Castlebar parat, wo man sich dann auch mal zufällig auf ein Guiness trifft. Das beste Guiness Ăźbrigens gab es nach unserer Meinung im "John Mc Hales", gleich ein paar Meter neben dem B&B. Liebe Oonagh, lieber Des, es war uns eine Freude bei euch zu Gast zu sein. Cannot recommend highly enough. Stayed recently for a week and both Oonagh and Des were the perfect hosts. Comfortable rooms and wonderful breakfast!! The house is very well situated with all amenities easily within walking distance, not to mention John McHaleâs bar handily placed. Oonagh was a fountain of knowledge with regards to where to go and how best to get there. All round a great place to base yourself for touring the area and excellent value for money. Even Riley the dog was very friendly and greeted us every morning! Will definitely hope to return in the future, possibly to take a game in when the red and green play!

An excellent place to stay with exceptional hosts. They both really went out of their way to accommodate all of our needs and was truly appreciated. This B&B was highly recommended by all 6 of us who stayed at the House. The breakfast was fantastic and cooked to request. Absolutely no issues whatsoever. There was a wide, varied and healthy range of cereals as well, if cooked breakfast is not your preferred option. The rooms were clean, well maintained and great parking. Fantastic hosts who go above and beyond, have a great manner about them and we would most certainly be revisiting if ever back in the area and have recommended this to relatives already. Definitely well worth a visit.

Delightful owner! Una gave us great information on where to dine. You can walk everywhere youâd like to go. We had an early departure. Una, the owner, put on a gorgeous spread for breakfast. We are a group of women cyclists who all loved this great spot to stay.

We always stay here when we visit Castlebar. The location is great being just a few minutes walk into town. There is ample car parking. The owners Oonagh and Des are always extremely friendly and helpful. There is a very good choice of modern bedrooms, with TV, toiletries and tea/coffee available. The breakfast is great and cooked to order. A great choice if you are visiting Castlebar or the wider Mayo region.
