Top class service and food was amazing. Not a bad word to say about the place

We had a lovely two night stay for my birthday, and we would certainly go back, and we would recommend the hotel to others. So why not five stars? Well, we just want to offer some constructive feedback to the hotel, with the best possible intentions. 1. The lobby bar is somewhat spartan and lacking in ambiance. The young staff are eager to please, but forgot our wine order, didn’t bring any condiments until asked, and omitted the promised blue cheese dressing from my order of chicken wings. Why was it necessary to ask for the wine list? OK, not major problems, but disappointing on the first evening of what we hoped would be a five-star experience. 2. The spa is excellent, with a brilliant indoor/outdoor pool and lovely thermal suite. 3. Breakfast buffet very good, lots to choose from and very friendly staff. Mary gave us great directions to Cavan Garden Centre. 4. The basement bar is nice but why is there a large TV permanently tuned to football or Sky Sports? Not a great environment for pre-dinner apéros, but we had a pleasant chat with the barman on the evening when there was no live football. 5. Maxwell’s restaurant is a very typical hotel dining experience. Sparsely furnished, no nice tablecloths or even a candle or table lamp. Food is OK, but lacking a bit of flair. It’s not a “restaurant”. Feels a bit like a conveyor belt, with staff who are young and eager, but who aren’t really invested in the whole experience. 6. Our patio room was lovely, bed very comfortable and bathroom very nice. So overall, we had a nice stay. However, it didn’t quite feel like the luxury country house hotel experience we were hoping for. Fairly efficient, but lacking that certain something that would have made our stay seem “special”. But to be fair, it’s good value, so now we know what to expect, we will go back, particularly to enjoy the spa.

This was our 2nd time staying at the Farnham, and in bith occassions we neevr had any issues and have loved our time there.

We got married here on the June Bank Holiday weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The wedding team couldn’t have done more for us- Shauna, Dovile & Rachel- thank you all so much for everything! We had the perfect day. I would definitely recommend this wedding venue. Everyone keeps commenting on how great the food was and how beautiful the grounds were for photos! Thank you again and we’ll be back soon to visit!

Another fantastic trip here, service, food, room and spa all excellent! Special recognition for Niamh on reception and Danielle in their spa for welcoming us so well and taking care of us so professionally. Would recommend a trip here for anyone and plan to bring my mum later in the year!

We came here just to get away for a few nights. Food in Maxwells and The Cedar were great, both slightly different so would recommend you check both menus before booking. Drink is slightly on the expensive side now but did not put a dampener on our time here. Room was great, nice and big and we had a great view from the top floor. The spa was perfect as well. Swimming pool and thermal suite. Perfect for getting away. My wife had a massage and she said the treatment and the person providing it were great. Fantastic experience overall, however has to be said the staff were incredible and wonderful throughout. Checking in, the bar, restaurant, breakfast, spa and checking out, all the staff had you feeling well looked after. It would be unfair to pick any individual out for how great they where when everyone made you feel so welcome and catered to. Fantastic hotel, fantastic food and fantastic spa but it's the staff looking after you and chatting to you that make it the experience. It's our third time here and would definitely be back again at some stage in the future.

We had a lovely stay here recently and have stayed many times previously all of which were the same. Staff were so helpful and accommodating, food was beautiful and the spa and pool is so relaxing not to mention spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here for one night to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. From the moment we arrived we were treated with exceptional service; the reception staff wished him a happy birthday. We stayed in the Waldron Suite which was lovely, the decor and cleanliness was exceptional. We used the spa which was so relaxing and clean. We had a 3 course meal in Cedar's Steakhouse. My husband had the best fillet steak ever. The dining experience and service was excellent. The cellar bar had live music on the night. We had a most pleasant stay in the Farnham, and would recommend this hotel to anyone for a relaxing break.
