Lesar Hotel Angel - Member of Hip Hotels

Had a nice stay at this hotel but the hotel has some issues. Biggest one of them being parking and carrying luggage to the hotel as there is no way you can park closer to the hotel. On top of it, its a cobbled street. Say goodbye to you bag wheelies… Secondly, being a 4star property, i would atleast expect a 24hr reception desk. Had a call from trip.com office regarding my eta to the hotel as they would close the reception desk after 10pm and we wouldnt be able to check-in if there is no staff. Thankfully staff stayed late as our flight was super delayed (Perfect easyjet moment) and checked us in before we could head out and get dinner which was past 10:45pm and almost none of the restaurants were serving dinner. So much for the first magical evening in Ljubljana!!!! Thirdly, there is no lift being an old building which is self explanatory, but travellers with heavy luggage should be warned in advance. Fourthly, as for the breakfast we expected a proper coffee from a 4star property, but instead there is only a small coffee machine which dispenses coffee on button press. Guys the coffee isnt nice. I would rather head downstairs to the main street with plenty of cafes around. Breakfast itself is just standard, nothing whao. For hot breakfast there is only one option - eggs (served 4 ways) wasnt great, wasnt bad! Now for the good part, hotel is nicely decorated, clean, rooms are spacious, coffee machine and kettle inside the room. Clean towels, Comfy beds! A complimentary bubbly waiting for you in the fridge, somehow they knew you are exhausted from carrying your bags from the end of the street to the hotel and upstairs!!! 😫 3.5 stars.

Lesar Hotel Angel is a charming blend of old-world elegance and modern comfort, tucked away in the heart of Ljubljana’s Old Town.” The staff Adin, Jenet, Anel and Nejla were exceptional and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant and memorable. The location is unbeatable — just steps from the river and main attractions. Our room was spacious, spotless, and filled with natural light. We would happily return to Lesar Hotel Angel and recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful, character-filled stay in Ljubljana.

This hotel was by far the most impressive of the 6 previous hotel stays on our trip through Germany and the UK. Absolutely beautifully decorated, premium fittings and amenities and historic charm without compromising modern conveniences.

A lovely friendly hotel in a perfect quiet location to explore the old city. All the staff where very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The room was a good size, very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of items. The hotel was an interesting old building with stylish décor.

Great staff who were helpful with the luggage (which is an issue if you are driving) Beautiful walkable town and wonderful food.

Quiet location in the city centre close to main sites, good breakfast selection. Friendly staff. Bath in the room was a welcome surprise. We really enjoyed chilling out in the reception area after a long day.

This hotel is very cosy, beautiful, it looks like museum.

Lesar Angel is a beautiful building, inside and out, centrally located but sufficiently off the main drag to be quiet. Or so we thought. The first morning we were woken at 7.30 by builders renovating the property next door. We had one of the attic rooms so there were drills going literally outside our window. The next morning we were woken at 7.15. Good job we had to be up fairly early anyway as we were checking out (thankfully!). By the look of the adjacent building I'd guess the renovations are going to take quite a while. Might be worth checking when you book if you're not one who's up with the larks or need an afternoon kip. Our room (7) was very spacious, but a bit tired - especially the bathroom. There was a coffee machine but just the one pod each - bit tight. Furniture all a bit mish-mash and the space didn't really flow, but we were comfortable enough. Breakfast was a slightly odd affair. Tea and coffee is help yourself using flasks of just-about-warm-enough water kept either side of the two warming plates for fried/scrambled eggs. They were the only warm thing. No toast!! Bread selection good first morning, not so the next. Not a particularly wide selection of other stuff either. The one thing that I really liked about this hotel is the garden at the back. It's up quite a few steep steps so perhaps not for the dodgy of knee, but an absolutely lovely place to sit an have a drink (that we bought from shop around the corner as no bar at the hotel). Looking out over the rooftops, it's very chilled and quiet (the builders had finished by 4.30), all we could hear were the birds. Bliss!
