Staff were super friendly and very informative. Air con was good, drinking water available and good wifi. The rooms were comfortable and the location was also very good. A very reasonable price. A great budget option for people in Jakarta.

Many things have changed since early reviews but this is still a good place to stay. Only ten minutes walk from Cikini station with lots of eating options close by. Manager Fredy is still a source of information and assistance. The capsules lack privacy but are otherwise fine: very comfortable mattress, charging point and background light, and a locker below (mine was broken). The air conditioning works a treat. The showers have hot water, hardly needed in Jakarta's heat. There is a good meeting and relaxing area in the lobby, with meals and drinks available. Sadly, the dogs are gone, there is just a playful cat. It is far enough from the main street that it is quiet.

Great hostel overall, staff very helpful, comfortable capsules, good internet and everything in general, would recommend it for your visit to Jakarta, location is pretty good too, everything is near the hostel.

We would really recommend to stay at the old batavia. Fredy (the owner) will help you with everything you need help with. The rest of the team will take good care of you showing you around, with activities, recommendations and parties, if your asking for it. We really miss the Old Batavia Family!! The Location of the hostel is also very good! We will come back asap!
