Das Grandhotel Zvon hat wohl eine der besten Lagen in ganz Budweis. Praktisch alles kann man hier zu Fuss unternehmen und es gibt sehr viele kleine Geschäfte die sich für Einkaufsmöglichkeiten eignen, da hier vieles sehr günstig eingekauft werden kann.
Das Zvon ist natürlich kein 5* Haus wie man sich das vorstellen könnte, würde ausser dem Haus und den Zimmern nicht einmal 4 Sterne erreichen. Das Frühstück dass man in einem sehr schönen grossen Saal geniessen kann ist mittelmässig bis gut. Die Parkmöglichkeiten sind im Hause vorhanden, etwas schwierig was sich nicht vermeiden lässt, da die Autos mit einem Autolift in den ersten Stock transportiert werden müssen. Parken für tschechische Verhältnisse ist teuer aber immer noch günstiger als auf der Strasse vor dem Haus wo überall die Parkzeit beschränkt ist. Das Restaurant, alt und eingerichtet wie vor 50 Jahren ist jedoch sehr gut und die Preise sind als sehr günstig zu bezeichnen. Wir waren gleich zwei Mal dort und wurden nicht enttäuscht.
Bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Budweis werden wir also wieder im Zvon absteigen, auch wenn man kleinere Einbussen in Kauf nehmen muss.

Wir waren die letzten Jahre schon oft in diesem Hotel, jeweils für eine Nacht auf der Hin,- bzw. Rückreise von Österreich. Unserer Meinung nach hat das Hotel stark nachgelassen. Die Preise für 1 ÜN haben sich mehr als verdoppelt, der Rest hat nachgelassen. Parken im Hotel kostet 24€ auf dem Platz vor dem Hotel jedoch auch um die 20€. Das Personal war in allein Bereich sehr unfreundlich und alles andere als Service orientiert. Wir mussten beim Frühstück mit wildfremden Touristen aus Südkorea an einem Tisch sitzen, weil sich vom Personal niemand genötigt fühlte den zusätzlichen Frühstücksraum zu öffnen.
Das einzig schöne an dem Hotel ist die Lage und das lecker Frühstück. Wir werden jedoch nicht mehr hier übernachten, speziell die Unfreundlichkeit und fehlend Motivation der Mitarbeiter hat uns nicht gefallen.

Das Hotel lebt vom Namen und von den tausenden Durchgangstouristen welche Budvar jedes Jahr besuchen. Wir haben ein Superior Zimmer gebucht (2te Kategorie über Standard) entschieden aufgrund der Bilder vom Hotel für diese Kategorie. Was wir bekommen haben war weit bis meilenweit entfernt von dem was die Bilder versprochen haben. Weder hatte das Zimmer die Grösse welche angepriesen wurde, noch die Ausstattung zB Klimaanlage, Geräuschisoliert (An unserem Zimmer klaffte ein Spalt das Licht vom Flur ins Zimmer fiel - kein Witz) Das Zimmer entsprach maximal der Standardkategorie. Wir haben die Dame an der Rezeption darauf hingewiesen. Ihre Antwort: Dies ist das Superiorzimmer nur sind nicht alle Superiorzimmer gleich ausgestattet... Da wir bereits via ******* gezahlt hatten, konnte kein Preisnachlass gewährt werden. Die Dame bot uns eine Flasche Wein zur Entschädigung. Lobend möchte ich erwähnen dass die Dame an der Rezeption unglaublich nett war - absolut an einer Lösung interessiert und sich selbst über die Situation Theorie/Praxis im Klaren. Wir würden dieses Hotel Aufgrund der Lage und der Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter(in***) empfehlen - die Zimmerkategorien sind leider nur als ungefähr zu erwarten...
