Taihu Lake Traditional Water Town Inn

Located near the East Gate entrance of Taihu Ancient Town. Check-in was at the main hall by the ticket office. The inn is spread across several areas, which is very convenient if you're traveling with kids and seniors. It's easy to pop back for a midday rest, and also convenient to return after watching the fireworks at night. It's pet-friendly and includes entrance tickets and parking, making it quite a good value for money. However, the room was a bit small and the soundproofing wasn't great.

Although the overall experience was average, the location is excellent, making it perfect for first-time visitors who are still figuring things out.

The room was very clean and quiet. The ancient town was lively during the day with many performances. The front desk staff gave us a lot of tips and were very enthusiastic and helpful. They even gave us two free tickets to the performance center, which was a great value!

Let's start with the only positive: the hotel is located within the ancient town, which makes it convenient to explore and pop back for a rest whenever needed. The overall cleanliness was decent; on the first day, I requested cleaning before heading out, and my room was tidied up by the time I returned. My biggest complaint is how incredibly small the room was. I've never stayed in such a tiny hotel; it barely fit two beds with just enough room to walk. There was no desk, only one chair. The facilities were very old and run-down. The wall outlets were so loose that my charger wouldn't even stay in. The air conditioning would turn off shortly after being switched on, requiring me to get up and restart it every time. I couldn't tell if it was broken or intentionally set up that way. Luckily, it wasn't cold during my stay, so the AC issue wasn't a major problem.

The staff has a good service attitude, the room is clean and tidy, the facilities and equipment are complete, the surrounding environment is comfortable and relaxing, you can enjoy a slow-paced life, there are many activities to choose from when traveling, I heard that there will be a fireworks show on Saturday, but I didn't see it this time, so I plan to arrange another trip on a free weekend 😄
