Chaozhou Meixiangju Chinese Inn (Paifang Street Ancient City)

1. Great location! It's a three-minute walk to Kaiyuan Temple and Paifang Street. Getting a taxi is easy; just set your GPS to 'Kaiyuan Party-Masses Service Center' and walk 50 meters to Meixiangju at You Alley No. 40. 2. The room is well-equipped with an air purifier, air circulation system, dehumidifier, fresh air system, central air conditioning, a 55-inch TV, and an electric mosquito swatter. There's also a washing machine and refrigerator in the common area. 3. The owner is very nice and thoughtful, and even provided me with recommendations for food and activities.

Chaozhou Meixiangju, a traditional Beijing courtyard house – this four-courtyard complex, spanning an acre and boasting over 400 years of history, truly lives up to its reputation (I initially doubted a guesthouse with zero bad reviews). Stepping in, the courtyard was clean, tidy, and vibrant with greenery. Many items exuded a sense of historical gravitas. Inside the room, two diligent cleaning ladies were tidying up; they clean after every guest. The room's decor clearly showcased the owner's meticulous attention to detail. The host, Ms. Mei, was incredibly talkative and warm-hearted. She shared fascinating insights on history, tea ceremonies, and local culture – truly a remarkable person, haha! She even provides her unique 'Mei's Chaozhou Guide'. Originally, I planned only one day in Chaozhou, but happily extended it by another day because of this wonderful experience. I hope to visit Meixiangju again and explore Chaoshan once more...

The room was clean and the owner was very welcoming, giving us tips on local attractions and restaurants. They even proactively added us on WeChat, so we could ask them questions anytime. We'll definitely stay here again.

The environment is great, it's very close to Kaiyuan Temple within the ancient city, and it's easy to walk to all the attractions. It's also quite easy to find. The owner is very helpful and meticulously recommended itineraries. The service is excellent, the facilities are complete, and the surroundings are beautiful.

Despite two consecutive days of rain in Chaozhou, the hotel felt completely dry! The room linens were consistently fresh and fluffy, and it was quiet at night. We had a comfortable stay and a peaceful sleep – definitely our top choice for future trips. The owner even treated us to Fenghuang Tianchi Milanxiang tea, which had a rich aroma and a long, sweet aftertaste that I absolutely loved. I ended up buying two bottles to take home. If you're looking for an immersive experience of Chaozhou's ancient architecture and Gongfu tea culture, Meixiang Residence is definitely the right choice.

The owner is incredibly welcoming! The room was spotless, clean, and tidy, and the courtyard decor was charming and unique. There were no strange odors in the room, and they even provided disposable bath and hand towels. It's conveniently located, within walking distance to Paifang Street. If you need to go further, it's easy to call a Didi from right outside. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I have the chance.

No wonder this B&B was a filming location for the CCTV Spring Festival Gala; it truly lives up to its perfect reviews! The experience was fantastic. It's centrally located in Chaozhou Ancient City, making both transportation and parking incredibly convenient. We parked at the Kaiyuan parking lot, and it was just a one-minute walk to the inn. The owner was exceptionally thoughtful, offering tips and recommendations for food, drinks, and activities throughout our stay – all of their local suggestions were spot-on. The old courtyard house has a charming, ancient vibe, and our room was clean and refreshing with complete amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay. The 'Qingmei Pavilion' duplex room was spacious with plenty of beds and excellent audio-visual facilities, offering incredible value for money. This B&B is a ancestral home from the Ming Dynasty, with attention to detail evident everywhere. It's also a benchmark for fire safety, making us feel very secure during our stay. The surrounding alleys are bustling with local life, and you can stumble upon delicious specialty foods around every corner. Strolling through the ancient courtyard dressed in Nyonya attire made for beautiful, atmospheric photos.
