Taiyuanju (Chaozhou Ancient City Paifang Street)

Located right inside Chaozhou Ancient City, the hotel's location is excellent. It's incredibly convenient to explore all the attractions and Paifang Street for food and shopping. I stayed for two nights and pretty much walked all over the ancient city multiple times, checking out many popular foodie spots. The staff were very enthusiastic and proactively gave us tips and advice. When we left, they even helped us arrange a car to the airport, which was great because many drivers are reluctant to drive into the narrow streets of the ancient city if you call one yourself. It's a shame I visited just before the ***** New Year; I missed out on all the folk performances the hotel hosts during the first month of the new year.

This hotel is located within the ancient city, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle, and is only 60 meters from the Zhuangyuan Archway. There are parking spaces available at the entrance, but you need to contact them in advance to reserve one. The front desk staff were very friendly and provided an electric cart service to Zhuzhu Gate, which is just a few minutes' walk from Guangji Bridge – super convenient! They delivered fresh fruit every day. On one of the days, our original room type wasn't available, but after contacting them, they upgraded us. I especially loved the balcony; after a long day of exploring the ancient city, sitting on the balcony with a pot of tea was incredibly relaxing. The entire hotel has a traditional Chinese style, is clean, and features new facilities. Highly recommended!

It's very clean, and the front desk service was incredibly welcoming. It's right in the scenic area, which is super convenient. There's parking available, but I wouldn't recommend driving yourself as it's not easy to navigate the scenic area by car.

Centrally located in Chaozhou Ancient City, it's very convenient to walk to Guangji Bridge and Kaiyuan Temple. The entire hotel is designed in a traditional Chaozhou architectural style, and the mattress and memory foam pillows are really comfortable! The Chaozhou-style breakfast is also incredibly rich; I absolutely loved the beef offal kway teow soup and braised eggs!

The front desk staff were all very warm and helpful, always quick to respond to any questions. The environment was peaceful and comfortable, and best of all, it's very close to all the attractions. I'll definitely book here again next time!

Pros: The hotel's decor is comfortable, and the front desk staff are warm and patient. I really liked the small balcony in the room, and there's even a little hook for drying clothes – great attention to detail! Cons: The soundproofing is terrible; you can't tell which room's doorbell is ringing. Also, the breakfast was really lacking, to the point where we preferred to eat out. I also wonder why the hotel has a shuttle service, yet no one bothered to ask if we needed a ride during check-in or check-out. For this price, it's definitely not good value for money.

This hotel has an old Nanyang charm and is located right in the ancient city, making it super convenient for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. If you provide your license plate number in advance, they'll arrange parking for you. Overall, a fantastic experience! 🤭☺️
