AC Hotel Chapel Hill Downtown

Cute hotel with a nicely styled room. However, I can’t give it a full five-star review. At this price point, I feel daily housekeeping should be offered rather than service every other day. During my stay, one of the elevators was out of order, which led to long wait times since only one elevator was available. The front desk staff were kind at check-in.

The AC Hotel was very attractively decorated in a modern style. I liked the wood floors throughout, which seem cleaner than the usual carpet. The rooms had full length windows offering good lighting and views. The staff were especially friendly and helpful whether at the front desk or the housekeeping and service personnel. The location on Rosemary Street (parallel to Franklin) was excellent for access to the town and University. Generally the noise level was good, but next to the west end of the hotel is a bar, which as it was near the end of the semester was quite loud until late. I suggest a room away from that end. There were the usual amenities and a refrigerator was in the room. Given the location and apparent demand (the hotel was fully booked when we were there) , we did pay a steep price for all of the above.

We had the best desk clerk at check in. Very pleasant and helpful 4/12 at noon! She gave us all the information we needed, without asking one question ourselves.Hotel was clan and quiet.
