We arrived at The Westin and the lobby was open and inviting. However, there was no welcome drink or warm welcome as I am used to when visiting an island. It was quite busy and we didn’t wait too long to be checked in. However, waiting for our room was completely different. We checked in at 12:30-1pm. I am aware that check in is at 4pm, but we didn’t receive much information about the property (WiFi, events/entertainment, places to eat) while we waited. We were just handed a map and were told that we would be called when our room was ready. I must say the staff at this Westin property isn’t very helpful or have that service w a smile energy. Anyway, we decided to eat at Luna Mar. Britney, our waitress had something personal going on. The wait for the drinks and food was long and she made it longer. The burger that we ordered was nothing like described on the menu. They were two hockey puck burgers stacked on each other. The chicken sandwich was ok, but the piña coladas that we ordered (one with liquor one without) were not great. We waited for our plates to be cleared away, we waited for the bill, we waited for the bill to be collected, we waited around a lot and I asked my husband at 3pm to check it the room was available because I was over it. Thankfully the room was ready, but we didn’t receive a call to let us know it was ready. The room was spacious and clean. The safe worked but no iron, only a steamer. The bathroom was great and thankfully no horror stories about poor water pressure or shower doors that didn’t close properly. We also had a terrace that had a view of the ocean. The beds and pillows were fine, but we weren’t in St. Thomas to stay in the room. This property is beautiful. The large open spaces and the seating made available for guests almost always have a view of the beautiful Caribbean ocean and the nights sky. The refilling bottle stations was a nice touch. We aren’t pool people, but there is an adult pool (which always had kids in it) and a large mixed pool. There’s also a pool bar. We didn’t eat there so I can’t speak to that. The beach isn’t huge, but it is clean & peaceful. Word to the wise, walking to the beach is a trek from the hotel put on your Fitbit or Apple Watch to record the activity. There’s an elevator that never shows up, but just take the stairs if you can because the scenery is lovely. The beach is on the Buoy House side of the the Westin. Because we were Westin guests we didn’t have to pay for chairs and umbrellas. We didn’t see beach service for drinks or food, but there is a restaurant (salt shack) with great food and you can take the food back to the beach. The beach is also kept clean. We didn’t experience cups or containers in the sand or the water. My family and I ate at the Salt Shack and were taken care of by Myrtle who is the best waitress. She was knowledgeable about the menu, sweet and very attentive. On another occasion we ate there and had Cindy as a waitress who was also great. The food

This is a true resort. It has three pools, including a splash area for young children and a private pool for adults. There's also a private beach and staff on hand to provide free beach activities like paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling. My favorite favorite part is the gym! It's super modern with a water view and the pickleball court was very popular. Many will notice every spot at this resort as a view, from the restaurants to even the hotel store balcony. The only consideration is this island is not walkable, so if you need to get to a local store you need a taxi and food service ends at 10pm and there's no Door Dash, so late night snackers better plan ahead.

Same thoughts as all the other reviews, except I’m going with 2 stars rather than 1 as our AC worked. Here are two small but representative examples of what you will find. 1) here’s a picture of our unmade bed. It was unmade on 5 of our 8 nights, along w no fresh towels, no trash removal, etc. I finally stopped calling the front desk after day two. Another guest did tell me a housekeeper told her that they’ve “never cleaned every room in a day”. 2) lobby restaurant has amazing views. Asked for table for 2 and nice hostess says it’s 10 mins. No prob and she takes our phone #. We go to bar, which oddly only was serving wine and a single type of beer despite being a full service bar. I see multiple other couples being seated, so after 25 mins I ask the hostess about our table. She tells us she “forgot” us, she’s nice and gets us a table. We seat, get two menu books, one has nothing inside it (see pic), waitress comes to take drink order and says wine and one beer type are the only things available. I ask her why and she says “there was an electrical fire” yesterday. I ask her why that prevents making drinks and she says “I don’t know, I wasn’t here”. Will say food was great. Get the Firecracker Roll. Also, Xavier at the bar was friendly, helpful and always had a smile

The island is beautiful, the hotel was nice the housekeeping was unacceptable. I had to ask for clean towels and wash clothes everyday. My room was only cleaned 2 times the whole week after repeated requests and even after talking with a supposed supervisor. Westin should be ashamed…

The resort was beautiful but that’s not hard in a place like St. Thomas… BUT THE SERVICE WAS NOT UP TO WESTIN STANDARDS IM SURE OF… Our room was only cleaned 2 times during our week long stay. 2 days in a row 3 times each day I went to the front desk and ask for the the room to be cleaned and restock and even talked to a manager the third day to no avail… our room was still not cleaned and at 10 pm after a long day at the beach and dinner out we came back to a dirty room and no cleans towels or wash clothes.. I had to go to the front desk 5 out of 7 days to get clean towels and wash clothes. For the money people spend to stay at this place you can do better. Westin respects should expect better….

Where to begin? 1. Resort restaurant cancelled our dinner reservations without advance notice. Found out when we arrived for our reservation, about 5 minutes before reserved time with 3 hungry children. 2. Had to leave another resort restaurant after 2 1/2 hours as food never arrived 3. At a third resort restaurant, waited 25 minutes to get water and order but waitress never came back 4. One pool and 1/2 another shut down for a day due to private party. Guess the $75 per day resort fee doesn’t get you anything 5. Spa employee told my son’s family that had to leave another pool because we had children at the pool. Sign by the pool said children 12 and under had to be accompanied by an adult. We had more adults than children present and the kids were quieter than drinking adults! 6. Door to son’s room didn’t lock. He reported it but it wasn’t fixed the entire week. 7. Daughter’s reservation was for 2 queen beds. She got a king bed with a pull out couch! Pull out couches are NOT comfortable! 8. Two weeks after check out, still waiting for refund of room taxes we were billed twice, once thru advance reservation and again at check out. 9. 25% service charge applied to breakfast buffet because 4 grandparents sat at a table next to 2 parents and their 3 children! 10. Multiple emails and phone calls to try to nail down wedding flowers and desserts plus final cost. Did not happen until day before our travels. Do you yourself a favor and go somewhere else!
