200 South Street Inn

This B&B consists of two large old homes that have been remodeled but that have kept all their period charm. We absolutely loved our stay there! The staff are charming and the room had a fireplace and a four poster bed which was very comfortable. There are fruit bowls from which you can help yourself, and wine and cheese in the evenings for the guests. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit and juice and homemade granola and baked goods to name just a few things. The main shopping street, which has plenty of restaurants and bars, is just a 5 minute walk away. I will absolutely stay here again when I return.

We had a lovely getaway in Charlottesville with friends and 200 South Street in was exactly what we had hoped for. The public spaces were just right for our small group and the accommodations were convenient and very comfortable. The nearby outdoor mall is a great place to walk and for further destinations the trolly is close by and free! I loved the cookies when we arrived and the wine and cheese each evening. Lovely restaurant choices all around. Hope to return!

200 South Street is a great inn. Great location near the mall. The building is old with lots of character! I loved it. Very comfortable room. Great porch. Everything was lovely — nice people, bowls of fruit, and cookies in the evening. Wine and cheese in the afternoon. BUT, there is noise from the railroad. A couple of freight trains came through each night — I mean 10 minutes of many cars. I wanted the windows open, so it probably would have helped to close them and turn the fan on : ) I was also facing the back of the building. All this said. I would stay there again. But, would try for a room facing the street.

This is an excellent property in every respect if you desire a B and B in an older home. It is warm, cozy, inviting, and very comfortable. Free homemade cookies when you arrive. Easy access to everything. Very near the old town area. Hard to find anything to complain of. Had stayed here four times and thoroughly enjoyed every stay.

Staff was wonderful and the location is perfect for enjoying downtown Charlottesville

This was our second trip staying at 200 South Street Inn. We stay on our way to Florida so we can avoid the traffic on 95 between DC and Richmond. The Inn is old and charming, which we love. There are restaurants a short walk from the inn. The wine and cheese afternoon reception is charming and a nice way to meet other guests. Breakfast is perfect with good light options: toast, peanut butter, fruit, yogurt, baked goods. Would not want more.
