Didn't get to eat here, as needed to book a Christmas menu meal well in advance , but went for a drink before going elsewhere. Great service and interaction from all the staff!! Very impressive!!! Thank you! See you on the 28th Dec. Mrs Allen

This pub was highly recommended and I thought the food would be excellent for the price . The food was not bad but I have had nicer roasts for less money. The service was only adequate.Not value for money and we didn’t feel terribly welcomed . It didn’t live up to my expectations

Just spent a long weekend here in the twin room adjacent to the main building. It was clean and quiet and I liked that as well as the usual cartons provided for the tea/coffee making facilities, you could ask for fresh milk. My only criticism would be that the tv was a bit small. The food we had in the evening and for breakfast was delicious and I loved that the open fires were always lit which created a warm and cosy atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and happy to help. The pub always seemed to be busy and I can see why.

We had a wonderful one night stay at The Fox Runs Free in August. The staff went above and beyond from literally the moment we arrived. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and breakfast in the restaurant with great attentive service on both. Rooms were lovely with a great shower in the bathroom. The beer garden is spectacular. There can’t be many that rival such a view while enjoying a pint. We will return for sure!

We stayed here one night - a comfortable bedroom but no sheets - just a washable duvet - too hot for a summer's night. The restaurant failed to tell us which items on the menu were unavailable until we ordered. A veggie burger was not a burger - just a roast red pepper enclosing two mushrooms, nasty coleslaw. One group of 7 waited so long they were offered a free meal if they waited even longer. Breakfast was good but beware of the bacon sandwich - two thick slabs of bread - but delicious bacon.

Absolutely SUPERB. Food was outstanding as were the staff and building. Made to feel very welcome and relaxed with out two dogs. VERY busy pub but didn't have to wait long for food even though we hadn't booked. Gorgeous beer garden.

I stayed here, a few days ago for 2 nights. I was greeted by a nice young lady and shown to my room. The room was very nice, clean & comfortable, complete with T.V, tea/ coffee facilities & bottled water & biscuits. The room also had a fan.The food was very good, service was pretty quick and the staff just great.The Breakfast menu was quite vast and the food I had was very tasty. The Sunday Lunch was also good. The view from the garden is truly glorious

We had breakfast at this lovely pub whilst staying locally. Although the pub serves residents it doesn’t offer it on their website for non-residents. I enquired by email if they could accommodate a group of us and they readily welcomed us. I must say we had an enjoyable meal and the egg Benedict with bacon and full English was very good. We were well looked after by Peter who was on hand for anything we needed. Would definitely recommend this pub.

Decided to go for some lunch and chose a pizza which cost over £17. It came with a few dry salad leaves, not the ones advertised and very little in the way of toppings. I had the veggie option and there was so substitute for the meat. Heard on my way out pizza base is not home made. I’ve never felt so ripped off and insulted. There was no thought or effort made and it felt like an easy way to make money Terrible value for money, we won’t be returning. The view just isn’t enough to justify this
