Novotel Chartres

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and good facilities. We had a family room with 1 double and a double sofa bed. We didn’t eat at the hotel or get to use the swimming pool but it looked like a lovely terrace area. Quiet hotel with plenty of parking.

Fantastic cheese collection but the worst meal I’ve ever had and still paid for. Two main courses and a dessert. Couldn’t face the cheese. Ravioli was a pile of dark green stodge at the bottom of a small bowl. Couldn’t finish what was thankfully a small portion. The Crogue Madam had less flavour and charm than the panini I had in the supermarket cafe last week. The side portion of frite came in a bowl the size of a coffee cup. Hot food tasted like it came out of a microwave. The Pavlova wasn’t. A commercialy bought hard meringue nest topped with whipped cream and a sliced strawberry. Don’t eat here.

Just off the A11 with ample free and secure parking. Reception was welcoming and had made notes of my wife’s gluten-free requirements. Not always the case! The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Bed comfortable and bed-linen felt fresh. Room was quiet. Restaurant was fine albeit somewhat overpriced. Food came quickly and was of a reasonable quality. Greated with a smile at Breakfast which was good value and more than sufficient. Standout for me however was how helpful reception was in the morning who assisted me with weather report (Storm Goretti) and suggested route to avoid area affected. Really helpful and concerned. Reflected attitude of majority of staff we came into contact with.

clean hotel. nice staff. the cleaning staff cared a lot about the rooms. it was obvious by the way the room felt so clean everyday.

Wonderful staff and extremely comfortable sofá bed! I really appreciated having hair comditioner in the shower and also a bathtub. The exercise room was very nice. The sofá bed had some mechanical issues so it took time to get it resolved by staff person after a long travel day and late night arrival into the early am. Also they requested $10 extra for a 1 hour l late checkout which was a surprise since i travel weekly/constantly and most places i stay offer at no extra charge. Overall still highly recommended due to comfortable clean accommodations and super helpful staff.

The rooms are old especially the carpet and some of the staff are unfriendly and rude.
