Our 4th mini getaway to Chatham Bars did not disappoint us in any way. We usually go in February when costs are a bit less, but wanted to see CBI in bloom. We watched the transformation of winter to spring right before our eyes. We knew the resort would have limited activities opened this early in May, but what we experienced was no less than perfect! The staff, maintenance, gardeners, housekeepers were all so polite, engaging and made us feel like we had come back home.

Property was exceptional, staff was amazing. Classic New England charm with an easy walk to town. We unfortunately ended up with a sad room in the main building with a horrible view of the air conditioning units on the roof. Putting that aside, the stay was comfortable and top level. Again, for what we paid, I thought every room would be exceptional, but we missed out I guess.

We stayed at the Chatham Bars Inn for two nights in a king cottage one bedroom suite. What a gorgeous room and our view from the balcony was wonderful (it was a bit foggy the second day but we knew it was there)! The only caveat was the bath/shower which was very high to get into, and it was a bit awkward to lean all the way over the tub and turn on the shower; this could pose an issue for people with less mobility. This was a small issue, however, and everything else in the room was awesome, with a wet bar, refrigerator and lots of storage. The gentleman at the front desk who checked us in was charming, and service at the bar was very good as well. Our room service person was wonderful, leaving us with an immaculate room and some tasty chocolate. Hopefully we can get back soon!

The Easter Buffet at the Chatham Barrs Inn was a mixed bag. The seafood buffet was extravagant and fabulous. Everything was fresh and very good. The other food choices were good, the lamb very dry. Plenty of bread options and salad/cheese choices. We were warmly greeted and taken to a great table with a beautiful view of the ocean. The problem was the waitstaff. We had to take our own plates to the maitre ‘d desk between courses. We also had to go to the desk to ask for more silverware. We had to ask several times for a cup of coffee. We are usually generous tippers but didn’t think the automatic 20% added gratuity on the bill was justified in this case. I hope things improve because we love the Chatham Barrs Inn!

We were a group of nine meeting at CBI to celebrate birthdays that turned into a wonderful family reunion. From arrival to departure the folks at CBI were all friendly, efficient, accommodating and thoughtful. Many unexpected special touches throughout the long weekend. Amazing ocean front location in an historic building with many special artifacts and period art. Large clean rooms, nightly turn down service. Again, the staff brings the experience to another level.

really nice hotel to stay ! I came with friends of mine and it was the last summer and we spent a week and we stayed in this hotel ! Amazing properties and perfect spot to stay ...good service and food very good ! clean and nice view ..... I will come back again !
