Just spent 2 nights here, for my 60th birthday celebration, our first visit since the refurbishment and new ownership. First impressions were very good with excellent service on check in. Dinner was disappointing as the cote de boeuf was very fatty and not great quality. The waitress did take it off our bill when we pointed out. Breakfast was average as service was poor, had to ask twice for missing toast on both mornings. Service in the bar was outstanding on both nights. Our treehouse room was very average, given the price, and not much changed since refurb. Overall we won’t hurry back as it was very “average” as an experience, and we feel there is better quality elsewhere for this kind of price!

What a lovely dinner we had last night visited 28th sept. There was as 6 of us we all had an amazing time food was incredible definitely recommend. Are amazing waiter called Molly was not only 5 stars she was 10 stars. Tom was great as well serving are wine to us. The bar was incredible as well serving us some amazing cocktails. Shout out to Simon for the whisky knowledge. We will be back. Thankyou

Much thought has been put into the decor, amenities & general offerings. Unfortunately, there appears to be staffing and heating issues. Dinner was delayed. My wife ordered a birthday surprise of some sort for me. Never came. We then thought we'd relax by the fire. However, the building was freezing. After asking at reception, we were given a blow heater to huddle around. Our bedroom was equally cold and, with no room temperature controls, there was nothing we could do about it. Breakfast the next morning was blighted by the fact that we had to wait ages for everything. The bottom line is that this could be a wonderful hotel if it had the correct level of staffing and was kept sufficiently warm.

Firstly the spa itself was beautiful and the grounds of the hotel are stunning. However, when we arrived all the covers were on the loungers and the outdoor pool had debris in it so we weren’t sure if the spa was actually open. Staff were mixed - one was lovely but others very disinterested. I did not get the impression they were understaffed but just did not want to speak to guests. We waited at the reception and staff had their backs turned to us with no acknowledgement. Visited various spas across the UK and the hospitality here was the worst I’ve received. No robes available when we arrived which seems really out of character for a luxury spa. Other spas give a tour of the facilities or an explanation if you haven’t visited before but did not receive this here. Spa package included a drink which we had to chase. Asked if there were non-alcoholic options available and was pointed to a menu on the table. This was a disappointing visit as we thought it would be the highlight of our weekend away in the Cotswolds. Such a shame as it could be so lovely! We left early as did not feel particularly welcome and do not feel the experience was worth what we paid.

Had a wonderful afternoon celebrating my 60th birthday with family and friends. Lovely, beautiful place with beautiful views of the grounds. Cream tea was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. We did struggle a little with parking though.
