It's a good, cheap, decent motel. Excellent value for the money, which is ... cheap.
"Area around the motel" doesn't really apply since it is situated in the back parking lot of a truck stop.

We visit the area often and decided to try a different motel for a night. Traveling with a dog, options are limited. Anderson Chesterfield showed as pet friendly on TripAdvisor so I booked with confidence. We rolled into town late with an agenda, so discovering NO PET policy at the front desk was stressful. We made an alternate reservation and money was refunded. Could have been worse.

the rooms need to be updated..they still smell of smoke and the other one smelled musty so with my allergies it wasnt good for me..

It was ok for what it was (an inexpensive place to sleep).
The room was quite dirty though. Had to wear flip flops in shower.
To be fair the man working the counter was very nice and accommodating and I have no doubt he would have rectified the situation had I cared enough to complain.
