Arrived late but check-in was fast.
I also remember the cheerful hotelier who told me where to have dinner nearby. The spacious room and bathroom were nice.

We loved this hotel. It was large and spacious, unlike lots of European hotels. It was classy and reflected the grandness of the 1920's which made it fun, Will definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

…I stayed in this “Grand Hotel Excelsior” in Chianciano Terme!!…strategic location!!…right on the main square!!…with a group on a trip organized by an agency in my city!!…with half board! !...so breakfast...dinner and overnight stay!!...the structure is a bit dated!!...but still refined and very elegant environments!!...and everything was very clean and tidy!!...the room was in a quiet position!! ...the only flaw is the carpet!!l...which has absolutely nothing hygienic about it!!...and is now almost impossible to find!!...breakfast with an assor**ent of sweet and savory dishes!!...and with helpful and kind staff!!...but I had a good time!!…and I can honestly say that this “Grand Hotel Excelsior”!!…can be a good choice if you decide to stay in Chianciano Terme!!…

Of "grand hotel" there is only the name and the facade. The entrance also makes you think of elegance and grandeur, but once you enter the room you enter reality: old and dirty. The rooms are stuck in the 80s: hard pillows, uncomfortable mattress (but that depends on your taste!) and old and ruined bathroom. I wanted to make myself a herbal tea but the kettle already had water in it which came out brown: who knows how many years it had been there. Even when I rinsed it some brown still came out. A mess. The breakfast varies but unfortunately does not offer anything sweet for the lactose intolerant. However, the staff is very kind and helpful, the only positive note in all this.
