Beyond expectation. The room is spacious, directky facing a mayan ruin and sunset, so defintley a plus. Clean roooms, beautiful architecture, very good surroundings in the jungle. Not a lot of visitors so very quiet too, though one can tell the hotel has fallen off a bit. Some irrelevant facilities are disused, and the place seems a bit understaffed.

I have stayed in hotels several times, and I still prefer the room type facing the observatory this time. The thatched cottage has a lot of mosquitoes and no view, so it is not recommended. There are nightly light shows on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, so remember to buy tickets in advance. The side gates of the hotel and the pyramid are connected, and the location is invincible.

I originally planned to stay here one night in advance when I chose this hotel, and then go see the pyramids from the exclusive entrance of the hotel early in the morning to avoid the crowds. When I checked in, I discovered that the hotel entrance had been closed two years ago during the epidemic! You still have to drive around in a big circle to get back to the main entrance of the scenic spot to enter the park. The hotel lobby is very beautiful, and the sunset photos are excellent. There was also a large peacock walking around the hotel. The room was not bad either. The overall feeling is that the price/performance ratio is not very high. There may not be many customers, and the swimming pool and other facilities are not well maintained. I originally booked a room with breakfast included, but for some reason, I couldn't see this item in the hotel order. I was in a hurry and didn't bother to argue with them, so I paid first. Later, Ctrip customer service helped communicate and complete the refund. Thumbs up!

I love staying at Mayaland when visiting Chichen Itza. It is adjacent to the magnificent archaeological site and you feel its energy - while staying in a beautiful serene setting within the jungle. I have many great memories from this hotel. They have very nice staff some there over 20 years. I love reading about the history and all of the famous guests, the film telling the story of the Mayan and the iguanas everywhere. The 2 pools are perfect to take a dip in the middle of the day. The restaurant is very good and they have fresh juices. I remember when you could enter more easily from the hotel but this May 3rd 2024 when we entered we just drove over at 7:45 and parked. It was not so difficult. I highly recommend. A very special place.

This is scam. The hotel no longer exists. The link is to Algotels, not the hotel or chain Algotels is just taking your money. I’ve told TripAdvisor they should remove “Mayalands” but they have not followed through. Look up Algotels on the web for more information.

You can see the back of the Observatory in Chichen Itza from the front door. Bungalows are uniquely quaint, with mosquito nets over the beds, carved wood trim, and hooks to hang a hammock in front. No TV but who needs it? 2 swimming pools at both ends of the property. 4 receptacles for charging personal devices. Bungalowss are spread out over the extensive property and the outer ones are a fair walk from the front lobby. But if you want to feel like you're in a Mayan jungle this is your place. Dining was quite good.

Sadly only spent one night as part of a tour group but would have liked to spend more time at this beautiful hotel. Room was good and bed was comfortable but the grounds are amazing and restaurant and bar were very good. Being so close to the ruins are a big plus and I enjoyed my stay veery much.

Stay here for the location. Internet in office area, grounds lovely, one plug in bathroom to charge electricals, dark room. Three rooms to a building, sound depends on who's nearby. Good beds, mosquito netting is awkward. Confirm language before booking observatory video.

The hotel send an e-mail that they are under legal discpute and hence cannot accept the reservation. There might be something fishy going on as the booking had been paid already but I cannot find the reservation anymore on hotesl.com
Response from Property: Nothing fishy is going on, the Hotel Mayaland has not collected any payment yet. Please contact ********** Customer service for further assistance on this matter.

Thieves, I paid a deposit to reserve. I can't go anymore for health reasons and they don't refund anything even though I respect the cancellation rules and deadlines. I have not even tested the hotel that they are already stealing customers

I booked a night stay at this hotel for end of March through **********. Three days before my stay, I received an email from the hotel saying do not come to the hotel as it’s been occupied by armed *****. I asked for a refund they said I have to go through ********** I contacted ********** they said the hotel needs to authorise the refund and they are waiting for them to respond I still haven’t received my refund

Worth every penny. Location to the ruins is simple and the shuttle quick. Location off the toll road is easy to find as well. The services and staff were exceptional. Food maybe a little pricey but was again excellent. The actual hotel and grounds are beautiful and carefully maintained. Its as if you're staying in a jungle sanctuary with the birds and creatures. The Hotels resident peacock is also very friendly and like me had a big appetite. My room was in the main Building and like some of the other reviews was a suite with a view of the Observatory. I can not say I found fault with anything. The view, the amenities, the house keeping etc. The Hotel even set me up with a guide; Victor Gonzales. He was great. This was the best stay of my visit to the Yucatan. Thanks to the staff, you all were great!

We had a very enjoyable two night stay at the hotel. We stayed in the main building in an Observatory View room, which was clean, comfortable and nicely air conditioned. There were a few guests our first night and we were the only guests on our second night. Despite that, the staff was great and food good. It is a five minute drive to the site, and we’ll worth it so as to be able to get there when it opens before the crowds from Cancun and the strong sun. WiFi connection was excellent from the room and restaurant. We were to,d that it wasn’t as good from the bungalows

I had wanted to stay here for years. Thanks to Covid, my trip was delayed by 3 years. It is a beautiful setting. It is very secure and inaccessible to outsiders. There is a security gate with guards. The hotel is old, but I found it to be in good condition. My room was lovely; with a view of the mayan observatory. I took a tour from Cancun to Chichen Itza. That was about the only way to get to ML without a $200 taxi ride. The tour was with Viator and very good. It cost about $125 dollars. We had a nice bus and got entrance to Chichen Itza, stopped to swim in a ceynote and had lunch. The bus dropped me in Vallododid and I took a taxi to Mayalands. ML is very isolated. The only way to drink and eat is at the hotel restaurant/ bar. I found both a bit pricey for Mexico. A mojito was about $8(dollars) If I'd go again, I would stock up on supplies at the supermarket in Cancun. Restaurant food was good, but bland and little variety. Fish or chicken with rice and veggies was the norm. Wait staff was very attentive. BTW, no Cambio at hotel! Of course, you can use a credit card for virtually everything, but I believe cab drivers and vendors want pesos. Don't fall for the "need a Dr signature" for the covid test. Airport in Cancun has lab test in 30 min. for $14 dollars US. Do not wait until your flight is ready to board to get the test! They are slow. BTW, the pool in Feb. was very cold. All in all, it was a good trip. FAB views at C.I. and Mayalands for this photographer!
