Lovely old English pub. We stayed two nights.Great food and friendly staff, chat with locals.Good selection of wines and beers. I’m not one for writing reviews but this one needs to be visited. Close to Blenheim Palace and Bourton-on-the- water.

We have just returned from a 2 night New Years Eve break we had a amazing time absolutely perfect , the crown inn seems to be in the middle of no where but that’s what we wanted it was so quaint , pretty and such friendly staff , check in was a breeze took 2 min , our room was spotless , warm and cozy , we had small tv , clean white sheets , bed very comfortable, we had a kettle , hairdryer , iron board on request , and some basic Shampoo , hand wash , bring your own if you prefer to . The heating was on in our room which was nice , it’s a old building so it was cosy , there is milk and tap Water left on the landing for you to help yourself . You come and go as you please day and night no reception but your given a welcome sheet detailing everything you need to know . We had a lovely hot served breakfast with local produce im very fussy and this was spot on we had juice , tea coffee , yogurt all included in our room rate , we wanted more juice and coffee and it was not a problem at all , and included . We had no trouble parking and we were here over new year when locals were home and the hotel was full we were in and out all the time and never struggled once The hotel is quite and they are respectful to the locals we heard nothing at night so quite slept very well. We had dinner in the hotel twice it was so nice we actually cancelled dinner in another place we visit as we felt this was really lovely . If we got back early we’d pop into the bar for a drink and we’re always greeted so nicely by the staff or locals having a drink themselves . All in all I Loved our stay here we’ve already booked to go back next year There are no local shops so a car is a must and it’s definitely not for anyone that can’t do steep stairs but this is outlined on there website so please read Amazing gem of a place

Overall an amazing stay , our room was really comfortable & lovely & clean. We were staying for a wedding where the reception was taking place in the pub. The staff are amazing & very attentive . We dined in the the pub on the Friday evening & the food was superb.Sadly our blips were that on the coldest weekend of the year we had no heating or hot water for the duration of our stay , there was no toilet roll in the bathroom & no dog bed had been provided. Once these things were raised they were dealt with straight away , aside from the heating/hot water which unfortunately didn't come on at all . Had Matt the manager been able to fix it there was no doubt it would have been done. We were hardly in the room so it wasn't as bad as could have been ,however having to have a cold shower when getting ready for the wedding was not ideal..To summarize the team with Matt at the helm should be very proud of the excellent service they provide.

This is a beautiful country inn situated in the heart of the Cotswolds. We were extremely impressed with the aesthetic of the overall property as well as the restaurant/pub which had excellent food. We stayed in The Cottage which was SUPERB. It's a beautiful space with a lovely sitting room & fireplace, a quaint kitchen overlooking your own private garden, and a separate bedroom with ensuite bath upstairs. I took a lovely bubble bath one morning with the windows open and the sounds of church bells ringing in the distance. There is a nice view from the bedroom of a small pasture across the way with a beautiful little horse who frolicked in the field each morning. It was incredibly relaxing and peaceful. There is also a second bathroom located downstairs off the kitchen/garden entrance. The kitchen is well equipped although we did ask for milk to be delivered for our tea, but it never arrived. We also asked for firewood so we could enjoy the fireside one evening and that didn't arrive either - although we really didn't mind - because the staff are attending to so much around the property to include the operation of the restaurant and pub. The Cottage also has a connecting "Studio" space which can accommodate additional guests - but we chose not to include it in our stay since there were only 2 of us. This allowed them to rent it out to other guests - and we were grateful that there was not a shared entrance or space and we were able to maintain our privacy. This is a gem of a property and we highly recommend it! We chose to stay here en route from Bath to York as a 1/2 point on our journey and a great place to rest before moving on to Oxford, Stratford Upon Avon, or elsewhere.

We stayed at this charming village pub for one night. It is very traditional with stone flagged floors and beams. It has a lovely beer garden where we had a relaxing drink and caught the last of the afternoon sun. The room was a good size with a generous bathroom equipped with a stand alone bath and large walk in shower. The courtesy fridge on the landing meant we could help ourselves to cold water and cold milk for the room - what a great idea. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant, ably looked after by a young team. The menu was a cut above your average pub, as was the food. We would happily stay here again.

I spent one night at the cottage with my two children. The place is charming, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the essentials. The dining area is particularly delightful, and we enjoyed a delicious steak and burger. I would highly recommend this country pub.”

We stayed here for 2 nights, excellent greeting upon arrival, loved that we were taken to our room, things explained and were made to feel very welcome. Think unfortunately we were in the smallest room with slightly restricted headspace with a shower room with no window which I will say I was a little disappointed with. We were offered an alternative room for the first night but would have had to move back to the not so good one for the second night which we couldn’t be bothered with but it was offered In fairness. Toilet flush stopped working second day, mentioned to the maid who had clearly came across it before, was fixed by the time we returned. Loved the chocolate cookies in our room on arrival.. compliments to the chef! And excellent tea and coffee in the room. Ate dinner on site for the first night… food was good.. speedy service which in someways was a little too fast but they were just being efficient i expect. Breakfast was very good, quality of ingredients was first class, delicious eggs. Missed cereal, fresh fruit and pastries however. Toast very uneven in toasting which made it a bit difficult in spreading the solid butter on it.. would suggest getting a better toaster and keeping a little butter out for toast so easier to spread. Fabulous granola, yoghurt and compote. All in all good. Glad we chose it, just a couple of points mentioned.

Lovely little pub with rooms and a restaurant. Attentive but discreet staff offering a great service. Room was very clean and had everything you could require including a hair dryer, fan and radio. Bed was comfy with plenty of pillows and the bathroom was well stocked with lovely toiletries. Complementary tea and coffee provided but only soya milk available in fridge on landing. Restaurant was excellent. Not a huge menu but it was interesting and tasty if a little overpriced on some items...a smallish aubergine parmigiana main course was £20! Breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. All in all, a great weekend stopover.
