The hotel dumped me upon arrival. First, I was told a whole floor was affected by a flooding. Later, I was told there was a problem with a guest that was so intoxicated that she had to be taken to hospital, thus unable to check out. In the end, I was told there was a conference and the hotel was simply full/overbooked. No prior notice, no real excuse, nothing. I was told to go to a different hotel (Zentrum), which was very good. but I wasn't given any options. It takes some time and effort to find out where you want to stay, and you then look for a good deal. being sent to a hotel in a different location of the city is not ok. furthermore, the receptionist showed me quickly on a her phone that it was a short drive to the other hotel. however, google maps did not seem to know about all the road construction going on in Chisinau. after driving in circles for 20 minutes, I parked my rental car and walked. It turned out that in order to reach the hotel, you had to drive into a one-way street in the wrong direction (sic!). - The Bristol has a brilliant location, that's why I booked it. But it is not a hotel to be trusted. Just stay away from it! It is very badly managed, and customer service is an unknown concept to them. I spend around 50 nights in hotels around the world every year, usually in the 4-5 star category, but something like that has never happened to me. in case you like hotels that simply dump you, or hotels with guest that are so intoxicated that they have to be hospitalised, or hotels where water leaks that flood an entire floor seem to be a regular occurence, then you might want to book the Bristol. Otherwise, stay away!

Thanks to the reservation I made by Trip.com, when I arrived at the hotel, it was 30 minutes. I had to wait. When I entered the room, I wanted to drink something from the mini bar and the cupboard was not working. Then I wanted to turn on the TV, but the batteries of the remote were left in my hand. In short, the location is good, the breakfast is good, but unfortunately the staff and service are very poor.

The location of the hotel is great, but the service and friendliness of the staff are very poor. Two young women are sitting at the reception and are mostly busy with their cell phones. Even during check-in and check-out, something was done on the cell phone. In addition, eye contact was avoided and people remained seated during the conversations. As a guest you felt more like a nuisance. The breakfast buffet was good. But you had to pick up coffee and tea at the bar. The orders were acknowledged with a bored groan. Again, there was no customer orientation to be seen here. Unfortunately, I cannot rate the in-house restaurant Ludo (5th floor) because I left after about 20 minutes of waiting because no waiter came to my clearly visible table. It should be mentioned that there were only about 5 guests in the restaurant and about 5 waiters were sitting at the bar without any motivation.

After reading many reviews, we chose this hotel for a three night early summer break. The number 30 airport trolleybus (town hall stop) is a five minute walk from the hotel. The hotel overlooks a park close to the arc triumph and cathedral. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants within the vicinity. Opposite the hotel is the Fuior restaurant (see separate TA report) which offers a modern twist on Moldovan cuisine. The ground floor reception area includes a bar and seat area. Head to the 5th floor, and you will find the fitness / spa, Luds bar and grill, and the breakfast room. The receptionist who checked us in we presumed was having a bad day. She didn’t smile and was very perfunctory. Not a good start! However, the following eve, I asked the young male receptionist if they were able to charge my iPad due to broken lead. He was extremely helpful, and willingly charged my iPad. A very happy receptionist with a big smile. He deserves a recommendation from the management, We were allocated a room on the 4th floor. A very good size with twin beds, hanging space (a few more hangers would help), tea / coffee making facility, mini bar, air con, flat screen tv and writing desk. The shower room was modern and came with toiletries. The single beds were comfortable. Note that the room has a big full length mirror which is rare in many hotels. As per other reviews, the walls are rather thin, and you can hear your neighbours talking / tv. Be kind to your room neighbours and keep volume to acceptable level. The breakfast room is located on the 5th floor. I have travelled to many countries and I have to say this was one of the best breakfasts I have had. Plenty of hot and cold choices including smoked salmon, herring and Moldovan sparkling wine. The only thing missing (for me personally) was English breakfast tea. The barman who was making coffees made them to perfection. Luds bar and grill. This is located past the breakfast room. We decided to eat here on our last night. There are menus in the bedrooms so you can choose before you get there or order as room service. First tho we had to find the bar. A sign on a closed door at end of the corridor..,on opening we found a bright lively bar and grill. What a wonderful find! Being a bit lazy we both ordered the big kahuna burger and chips, followed by strudel. Both were very tasty and large portions - and excellent value! Thanks to Ivan the barman for excellent service. We enjoyed a good few hours at Luds. Note to hotel…get some decent signs from lift to Luds and keep the door open! Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. Location, good size room, excellent breakfast, super bar/food. A great choice for your Chisinau stay.

The hotel is located in the centre of Chisinau, with most things to see within walking distance. The walls in the rooms are very thin, so anything going on in the room next to you can be heard. The Pub is a nice place to both eat and have a drink before or after dinner.

The front desk staff were very helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location for almost everything, there are a ton of food and coffee options nearby. The room was huge, very comfortable. The bathroom was also big and very new. The breakfasts were very well done, great spread of food options.

The beds were hard. I never had a bed that hard in Europe. I stayed 3 nights and 3 times I asked the reception for putting some blankets to soften the bed a bit, they never did it. The brakefast was ok, but just one person to make coffee for all guests. It could be difficult to get a coffee in the morning. There were just two elevators and you had to wait a long time to get up and down. There were no alternatives with stairs. The hotel is way too expensive compared to what you get. Choose a better and cheaper hotel around the corner.

Other than the rock hard beds (which didn't cause me any sleeping problems), this hotel is an excellent choice when visiting Chisinau. Service is superb, breakfast buffet is amazing (with a strong Eastern Europe flavor), rooms are huge, and there are windows which can be opened in winter if necessary to regulate inside temperature. Everything is super clean. Bath towels are OK, not huge but adequate. HDTV choices are numerous including English language channels. It's an older facility so the number of electrical outlets are limited. But I managed to charge my devices by unplugging lamps. Elevators are limited for an 11 floor building so expect you might have to wait a couple minutes for an elevator to show up. But it's not bad, and they have fluffy soff sofas to sit on if you wish while you wait. The exercise room is adequate but limited. All in all, for 140 Euros per night, it's a decent value.

Hotel is dirty, not protected from noise, you can hear even calm talking of neighbours. Cheap and understandable pillows. But the most important very rude stuff on reception. Administrator ignores all the asking to improve staying. Also they tried to let me pay bill from restaurant with other person signature. The worst hotel I ever stayed

The staff is helpful, friendly, and flexible. They did an excellent job of providing for, and accommodating to, the needs of a group of traveling medical speakers. It is downtown in a large city, so there is a certain amount of traffic noise, but much less than in a US city.
