The ryokan is very well maintained and organised with decent onsen facilities. However the natural onsen facing the lake is somehow downbeat, as the water temperature is a little low probably due to the colder external weather. Overall a great stay!

The beds were excellent! As were the views from our room. It was truly a remote facility, which made it nice and peaceful.

The view from our window directly overlooks Lake Shikotsu, which is absolutely stunning! I also have to commend the service. Our flight was delayed, and we arrived after dinner service had ended, but after a quick chat, they still managed to hold dinner for us. It was fantastic!

A very special Ryokan, hidden in de woods. Not too big, just perfect. Beautiful place to stay at, very pretty lobby and kind service. Onsen is clean and beautiful with outdoor facility as well.
Only minus, we requested an extra pillow, but did not get one from the desk unfortunately.

Our room has a beautiful lakeside view . We enjoyed the ambience of a traditional ryokan and had a wonderful Kaiseki dinner .

Good food. Best ryokan. Location is abit secluded but that’s how the hotel gives you the privacy they promised.

More than 100 years old hotel. The view is great just beside the lake. The dinner and breakfast are good. Onsen has both inside and outside. The onsen outside has Great Lake view. Hotel still well maintained. A good relax place

The onsen is great! There is also a "hidden" spring which I enjoyed soaking into.
It is quite unreachable via public transport. They do have scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs at Shikotsuko bus terminal (via reservation). If you did not book dinner or breakfast, be sure to buy food before going, as there aren't many options.
Since it is a very traditional ryokan, there are no showers in the rooms (at least in the one I had). You must take a bath in the onsen.
I emjoyed my one-night stay here.
