I am local, in my 40s, and when I need to get out of the house for a little bit I look for a spot that is laid back, with good food, and service that treats me like a person who is respected. I get all of that whenever I visit. I began coming in two years ago when I moved back to Syracuse from the West Coast. That night I met Karen (she was behind the bar), and from that one night alone I've kept coming back as a faithful customer. Karen is engaging, KIND, and treats each customer like they are important. She not only remembers my drink and food preferences, she provides a space to talk about the things I love, and she remembers everything I tell her. She became my favorite bartender, until she eventually became a good friend. Because of my new friend, suddenly the entire staff became "first name basis" acquaintances. They make me feel welcome there. They make me feel like I'm home. I'm grateful for the environment, especially for Karen, and I always enjoy my time there. If I owned my own bar/restaurant, I would do whatever it took to steal her away and run my establishment. If you find yourself staying here, or just looking for a place to stop in to have a drink and a friendly conversation, pay Karen and the rest of the staff a visit and you won't regret it!
