I would recommend this lovely village property. The setting is forest and pasture land and we were fortunate to dine with a mix of locals and guests. The room was roomy and comfortable. Our contact person was helpful by showing us how to operate everything. Seems like a well used and loved setting for a good meal and restful night.

The bed was comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. You could tell the place was family run because of the caring attitude of their staff. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with local things. The food was good, notably the rhubarb fool. The breakfast omelette was amazing. We booked this country location to be close to Hadrian's Wall. It was lovely and perfectly quaint in the way that tourists like us were hoping. Adequate and easy parking. Cute garden and patio area. Stairs to bedrooms.

we arrived yesterday afternoon,there was not one person in the pub,the barman was talking on the phone completely ignored us ,when we asked are you serving food he said bluntly no and carried on talking as he walked away from us . we waited at the bar for him to come back but he did not returned.as our journey involved two cars and 6 people driving 110 miles each way to visit this pub as seen on the likley lads ,very very poor

Stayed last night for NYE. Lovely country pub with fire. The staff were friendly and took the time to make it a special night. The steak was amongst the best I’ve had. Breakfast was filling and quality. Would definitely stay again. Thanks to all the staff.

Country Inn and restaurant 20 minutes drive from Hexham, but well situated for anyone doing Hadrian's Wall. The room was excellent, confortable bed and sofa. And unusually easy to get radios 3 and 4 on the TV. Supper menu was un complicated but well cooked, wine list from the respected Corney & Barrow. Wide choice for breakfast (but no kippers).

Disappointing, having read other reviews, expected a lot better. The room, which was suppose to be a large double, was pretty small and in need of tlc. Meal was basically poor, fish and chips with fries instead of chips, I think not. Maybe we expect too much. Reading most of the other reviews we must have stayed in a different hotel
