O’Ciel Skyrise Riverside Hotel at Raffles City Chongqing

First off, if you're coming to Chongqing, you absolutely must follow navigation, but if you can ask for directions, do so. Navigation software is generally unreliable here. It can't tell which floor you're on. The first floor might be a street, and the 11th floor might also be a street – you never know what floor it's navigating you from. The location is pretty good. Step out of the building, and the subway entrance is just a couple of steps away. Across the street, there's an entrance to Raffles City. If you're heading to Raffles City, whatever you do, don't use navigation. It'll take you on a huge detour and still won't get you there. In reality, you can see the entrance right after you exit the hotel building. The hotel lobby is on the 21st floor, and there are many hotel front desks there. Make sure to check which hotel you booked, as it's not the only one located here. The front desk service attitude is quite good. Check-in time is 2 PM. You can store your luggage. You can also add the hotel's WeChat for direct service requests. I saw comments about a smoky smell after check-in. I did smell it when I first entered the room too. I looked around and it seemed like someone had lit incense in the bathroom near the door. After running the ventilation for a while, the smell disappeared. The room itself is generally good, but the stairs are very steep. I wouldn't recommend it for older guests. Both the upper and lower floors have toilets and are equipped with smart toilets. The TV on the first floor requires a membership, and the remote control was a bit sticky. Also, I felt there was a missing stool. I wanted to charge my phone and play games near the mini-fridge but had to stand. The bed on the second floor was very comfortable to sleep in and wasn't damp. The breakfast buffet is also on the 21st floor. I didn't get a full picture. The variety was decent, but the items were quite common. Given the price, it's very economical and good value for money. They also offer lunch and dinner buffets here, which are similarly affordable. Overall, for this price point and these conditions, there are no complaints. It's pretty good.

The night view here is absolutely stunning! Standing by the window at night, watching the city lights, it was so beautiful I didn't want to close the curtains. I probably took dozens of photos. The subway station is right downstairs, so it's super convenient to get around to all the attractions. The front desk staff was really warm and welcoming, smiling as they helped with my luggage and patiently recommended the best spots for night views. I'll definitely be back!

The subway station right downstairs makes transportation incredibly convenient; you can explore all of Chongqing just by taking the light rail. Must give five stars! The room was spotless, and the bathroom had a perfect wet/dry separation with no water stains – even someone with OCD couldn't find a flaw. Downstairs, there's a snack street with grilled sweet potato skin, hot and sour noodles, and ciba – you can literally eat from morning till night. The front desk guy was humorous and enthusiastic, helping with luggage and recommending hot pot places where the locals eat. Absolutely worth it!

The front desk staff, especially one young man, was incredibly thoughtful and helpful. He brought a charger to our room instantly when we asked and even arranged a car for us to the airport. Absolutely a perfect experience!
