Cathedral Junction Apartments

We had two adjoining apar**ents. One was large, with a good kitchen and lounge, the other was a smallish, basic room. The location is good but the book-in process fraught with issues as the apar**ents are separate from the reception and when we tried to book in we were told we were at the wrong place and had to go back once we figured we weren't. The rooms aren't air-conditioned but have a 'cooler' unit which is as noisy as hell and if you want to sleep it needs to be off. Ergo the rooms were too hot at night. We also found our bathroom sink would not hold water. A plus is the tram stop outside (runs 9am to 7pm) and the Japanese restaurant below.

We stayed in a two bed apar**ent at Quest Cathedral Junction as a family of four with two children aged 6 and 8. The apar**ent is very central and just a short walk from the river, the Margaret Mahy playground, excellent cafes and restaurants, the tram and the library. We hired a car to get around and there is some limited parking available in the basement car park though this needs to be booked for an extra fee. However, we thought it was well worth it to avoid the hassle of looking for a public space. Our apar**ent had a washing machine and we were able to dry our clothes easily. The staff are also super friendly and efficient. Overall, we thought it was an excellent place to stay and plan to stay there again when we next visit CHC. One of the reviews from a couple of years ago commented on the apar**ents not being serviced. In April 2023 when we stayed this was not our experience - we could have had our apar**ent serviced every day apart from weekends and public holidays so no complaints from us. Top marks!!

We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment. The location of the complex is great for access to the trams. It is only a few minutes walk to the Te Pae Convention Centre. The apartment itself is clean. Reasonably spacious and a lot of amenities including a washer/dryer. You do hear the sound of trams throughout the day as the windows and balcony overlook the tram track below, however, they finish fairly early in the evening so it wasn't an issue. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

This is a lovely cosy apar**ent , nice and warm which we needed considering the terrible Christchurch weather. Being central city is great and all the best sites are just a walk away. A very good supermarket is just a 5 minute walk . Our one gripe and why we gave this just 4 instead of 5 stars is there is no room servicing and we stayed a full week. When we booked it said room service daily but this did not occur. We asked for a couple of things we had run out of and these were provided the next day. But please don’t advertise something and fail to deliver! The wi fi is good and the apar**ent very well equiped. Not the usual souless place so many apar**ents are these days but some nice touches that make it feel more homely. Even a few ( plastic) pot plants. We were also able to park our rental car in the basement car park. We think this was included in our room rate. All in all we are more than satisfied even though the key card entry was a continuous problem.
