In a one-to-one email conversation with the Assistant General Manage I explained that I was recovering from a broken ankle, & still using crutches and a walking boot, which made showering difficult, at best ... and I asked that I be assigned a room that had handrails in the shower, and that had a "wlak-in" shower. There were no support rails in the shower in the room that I was assigned to, & in fact, there was barely even a handle on the shower door ... which also only opened part-way, forcing me to step into the shower in order to turn it on ... not quite as refreshing an experience as it might have been if the ambient air temperature were above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The shower also had a threshold that was not level with the floor of the bathroom, making for yet another trip/fall risk. I find it very difficult to believe that this hotel could have been developed & built without ADA minimums in place, but if it was the AGM should've told me. If it was not, then that the room I was assigned to did not have those accommodating features could only have been an intentional choice on the part of the hotel & its management. One other thing: the presence of fingernail/toenail clippings on the floor that were not my own made it clear that cleanliness is not this hotel's highest priority.
