We stayed (unfortunately only) one night at the Puyuhuapi Lodge and it was a positively memorable experience! It is an experience to be picked up from the other side of the lake by boat, the building is an architectural masterpiece and our room directly facing the water was great. Yes, the buildings aren't new and have some patina, but we found it generally well maintained and tastefully decorated. We took the opportunity - despite of the grey weather - to take a swim in the indoor pool as well as a bath in the natural hot water outdoor pools - very special! We had an excellent 3 course dinner with a stunning view on water while being served in an extraordinarily friendly and competent way in the restaurant. There is a set menu with two options per course, but e.g. tasty vegetarian alternatives were created upon request. We found the dinner reasonably priced given the quality. Generally the food is high quality, also at breakfast. We liked the friendly service during transport, at reception, at the bar and especially in the restaurant. We can only recommend a stay here.

For the price this is not a good hotel. Pools abandoned, bathrooms lack maintenance with tile falling, inflexible with transportation. The restaurant has fallen in quality since last time I was there 4 years ago and there are no other options. Its a nice location isolated and quite with nice hot spring pools, but not worth the very high price. Plus now they charge extra for kayaks and spa.

The Hotel needs an urgent structural restoration. It´s location is beautiful and the staff is helpfull. Food at the restaurant is average. The main problem is the conditions of the instalations, who seems to be forgotten in the 90´s. Also the hotel, lacks outdoor ativities.

For the price to be worth it: - the hot springs need an update (many tiles are missing and the floor/seats very slimy) - needs proper barista coffee machine in bar - dinner should be included - trails need to be maintained properly (they were grossly overgrown and many boardwalk planks were loose) - rooms could do with some more modern decor, the trend has passed On the positive though: incredible location, great service and lovely staff, the massages were seriously amazing and everything is well organized and feels very special. If all the above is sorted, this place could be close to heaven.
