Hotel was a great stay, staff friendly and service was great, food at restaurant was delicious.

Lovely staff, young and rushed off their feet, stayed for one night, stayed before 2018. Confused I paid for the privilege to stay in the hotel to attend the horse racing and watch Madness. Yet was confused that the hotel let anyone in to use the bar, from the race course when there was ample bars in the race ground for anyone not staying at the hotel. After Madness finished the only bar open is the hotel bar, because show is finished 10.00 home time and they want you out if you’re not staying at the hotel, which is fine, but if you are staying in the hotel as many of us were , bar was full, rammed so of course people wanted to sit outside because there are tables for the hotel outside but security had been told not to let anyone outside with drinks, how stupid is this, I understand you want to close the race course, so you need to restrict people from using the hotel if they aren’t staying there, and don’t be greedy and take peoples money knowing your going to be 60 people plus in a reception bar area, tiny thing like covdi happen few years back you should only serve hotel guest because that’s what you are, a hotel. And help the poor bar staff, young girl on her own, blokes walking out with 3/4 pints not paying and she’s on her own can’t chase them. Ps didn’t stay for breakfast too expensive, I was going to but even though it had increased in price quite a bit, but remembered it was cold last time we stayed.

Friendly staff, clean comfy room, quite area close to the city centre. Definitely be visiting again...

Nobody told me there's activity beside Hotel. All road block and we can't access to hotel after dinner. The road resume almost at 10pm and we spend 2 hours wait outside. Its troublesome to my family. I must complaint to IHS office for the negligence of Hotel staff.

The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the room was a decent size and very clean the beds where very comfortable, The food in the restaurant was ok not brilliant,we had the homemade lasagne. don't know about breakfast. The hotel leads on to race course which is great and is in a nice setting, would definitely use this hotel again

The breakfast was amazing and the staff were super friendly. The receptionist who booked us in was super lovely.

Was disappointed main restaurant was closed only bar area which was freezing needed wear a coat and the seating was not ideal for dining. Menu choice was limited due to sold out items.

The hotel is 3 stars (I believe), so I wasn’t expecting much. And the toilet handle didn’t work well. Food was ok. The lasagne was a small portion. But service was good ◡̈

We were there for Ladles Night. Everything was fine except for a few glitches with the tech in the restaurant, also our door card was a bit reluctant to let us into our room. Not overly impressed with the set menu, gammon was a bit dry and the banana dessert was chewy.

Absolutely rubbish time and time again reception staff asking have you paid for your room time and time again showed proof of payment different staff asking also stopped my key cards from working the second day for no reason again harrrased I got the feeling it was a racial thing against me and my family as we are Asian very unpleasant upset my son his 6 years old I am in the middle of court action against holiday inn

Expensive hotel for the amenities they provide. Lift was juddery and noisy. Breakfast close to £15 pp. but it was nice with great selection of food. Chair height in breakfast area was too low for table, maybe they were designed for very tall people. We did not try their wifi. Quite a small TV in the room. No bottled water provided in the room. There was kettle with milk, tea and coffee but no biscuits. No complementary newspaper as advertised. Because of a large group of people drinking and having fun outside our window, there was a lot of noise forcing us to close the window. Black out curtains could have helped with bright light in summer. There are quite a few food outlets nearby including McDonald.

A bit tired and drab, everything looks a little worn and shabby. Food offer pretty poor - stock control non-existent : no fish or chicken dishes. Ok stay but wouldn't recommend
