Customer service and cleanliness are subpar, this hotel should not be a 4 star hotel, it should be a 2 or 3 star hotel at most. Me and my gf arrived here late in the evening and the check in was fine but it took forever, they are super slow. And then after about 30 minutes, we finally got our key to go to our room. Only it was the wrong room! We booked a suite but received a normal room, which was half the size of the suite. We went back downstairs to get it changed but they said there was nothing they could do! We ended up only being able to stay in the suite 3 out of 4 nights. There was no compensation or discount given to us for this night that was lost. If we wanted to stay in a suite for 3 nights, we would have booked somewhere else. We would not have even stayed at Mercure if the suite was only available 3 nights instead of 4 since it wouldn't populate on hotels.com. Customer service is not helpful at all and they are understaffed. Additionally, the first room we stayed in was extremely dirty! Yellow stains on the bedsheets, and flys all over the wall. And in the second room we received, the window was cracked. I do not recommend you to stay here, for the price, it is not worth it. Find another hotel along the beach, there are a ton. The only good thing was the view, which the hotel is literally right in front of.

Let me start by saying the staff are all 5* but the hotel is sh1t. The lift will keep you awake with the high pitched screech every time it’s used (once or twice a minute) if the lift does not keep you awake then the sounds of other guests having a drum and bass party certainly will! I was on the first floor and the staircase was clearly signed… to a back of house area that has no stairs! The hotel is a grenfell waiting to happen! The fact that there is no public staircase is disgusting… but made worse by the comedic signs around the hotel encouraging you to use the stairs. And to top it all off while I was waiting for the lift to go down one flight… somebody had tried to sh1t in the bin by the lift taking it out of action! (See photo) Avoid this hotel at all costs, stay here and you’ll probably end up sleep deprived, stuck on a floor with a pile of sh1t, or not able to exit in a emergency. Avoid avoid avoid

Stay hosted with my wife for 7 days. Relatively small hotel, however, delivers everything that was proposed in the booking act, without saying what service of the staff, since reception, through the breakfast staff, cleaning staff, without retouch are of congratulations, excellent bed, I asked 2 more trams, in what I was ready to attend, small bathroom with a very nice shower, location could not be better, is just two squares from the best point of the beach of good travel, several bars and a very close restaurant, No parking, but every day I got vacation in front of the hotel. Breakfast is modest bad care very well, has tapioca with several tastes made at the time. Wi-Fi is very well. TV is small, but I don't travel to watch TV ne? They rent towels to go to the beach for a good value. Do you doubt? Don't stay! If the price you like go forward you can book, you'll regret no.

The hotels in Recife all seem to be pretty utilitarian, and Hotel Manibu Recife is no exception, but it offers very good value compared to some other hotels that are quite similar. For $50 USD a night my room was clean and functional, with a small view of the ocean through some buildings. The lobby is nicely decorated but the attached restaurant is drab. The rooftop pool area has a nice view but is rather small. The point of all these qualified statements that I am making is that basically, for $50 a night you are getting a clean room with a utilitarian bathroom and shower, which is a pretty good deal for the area. My room at the Radisson was basically the same (minus the balcony at the Radisson) but cost twice as much. Some high points to the Hotel Manibu are that the front desk clerk spoke excellent English, and there is a good restaurant called Entre Amigos on the beach in close walking distance. A low point of this hotel is that I did not see any other restaurants open in close walking distance (others have said there are some, but I walked around and didn't see anything open besides Entre Amigos). Anyway, if you don't want to pay top dollar for a hotel on the seafront this is a very reasonable choice.

VVeronica SThe hotels in Recife all seem to be pretty utilitarian, and Hotel Manibu Recife is no exception, but it offers very good value compared to some other hotels that are quite similar. For $50 USD a night my room was clean and functional, with a small view of the ocean through some buildings. The lobby is nicely decorated but the attached restaurant is drab. The rooftop pool area has a nice view but is rather small. The point of all these qualified statements that I am making is that basically, for $50 a night you are getting a clean room with a utilitarian bathroom and shower, which is a pretty good deal for the area. My room at the Radisson was basically the same (minus the balcony at the Radisson) but cost twice as much. Some high points to the Hotel Manibu are that the front desk clerk spoke excellent English, and there is a good restaurant called Entre Amigos on the beach in close walking distance. A low point of this hotel is that I did not see any other restaurants open in close walking distance (others have said there are some, but I walked around and didn't see anything open besides Entre Amigos). Anyway, if you don't want to pay top dollar for a hotel on the seafront this is a very reasonable choice.

The hotel used to be my favorite hotel in Recife, but it has lost its touch. The problems 1. The room was FULL of mosquitos and these mosquitos were stubborn. It was almost impossible to swat them with hand. I used repellant but they had become immune to repellant. All night they were buzzing in the ears, during my 2 night stay. 2. There is a new car repair garage right at back of hotel. so if you are in say room 232 or 134 etc....you can hear this noise from early morning of car repairs and mechanics tallking, making it impossible to sleep along with the buzzing mosquitos. 3. when I arrived in room, toilet was very dirty with human excreta of previous guest still visisble. 4. The hotel's internet /wifi connection was dropping off every 5 minutes on its own. 5. When I arrived the front desk girl on duty at 0300 refused to speak Spanish or English and insisted on speaking only Portuguese. For me, this is unacceptable. that hotel staff not trained in a 2nd language. why hire these jokers, general manager/ceo of this hotel - public wants to know!!? Positives 1. Excellent location close to Recife airport 2. Good hot water in shower 3. hotel has excellent coffee selection to buy and sip in the morning. 4. Morning front desk staff is friendly. ( night staff was super rude) Overall, I do not recommend this hotel. I wiill NEVER return and I travel often to Recife. I hope you found my review helpful? GGuest UserWorst experience of my life, after 61 years of traveling around the world this is by far the worst place I ever stayed. I booked via Booking a week and after one day I had to go look for another hotel. It was flooding water in the room from windows and walls, the structure is rotten as you can see from the pictures. Staff was arrogant and liar, totally lack of customer orientation and intimacy. Lack of empathy, they were only able to propose a downgrade to a much inferior room (we booked the most expensive suite) or proposing a refund if we would leave the hotel. This is what we did and then they started refusing to refund, I had to call booking and I am still waiting to get my money back after more then a week. This hotel should be shutdown by authorities as it does not meet minimum safety requirements, the water in the room could cause electric hazard. The building needs a full renovation, it is not in a condition to operate! Staff was totally unhelpful, a terrible experience, I had to call the police to protect my rights, a real nightmare!! Don't go to this hotel !!!!

Relatively small hotel, however, delivers everything that was proposed in the booking act, without saying what service of the staff, since reception, through the breakfast staff, cleaning staff, without retouch are of congratulations, excellent bed, I asked 2 more trams, in what I was ready to attend, small bathroom with a very nice shower, location could not be better, is just two squares from the best point of the beach of good travel, several bars and a very close restaurant, No parking, but every day I got vacation in front of the hotel. Breakfast is modest bad care very well, has tapioca with several tastes made at the time. Wi-Fi is very well. TV is small, but I don't travel to watch TV ne? They rent towels to go to the beach for a good value. Do you doubt? Don't stay! If the price you like go forward you can book, you'll regret no.
