I’ve stayed here in the past and our experience was awesome. So when we were back in town for an event at Prairieland park I was willing to pay the higher price tag to stay again. Knowing we were again travelling with kids I liked the spacious rooms and double vanity we had in previous stays. However this time our room is small, a terrible layout and we are cramped. The bathroom has the smallest vanity I’ve ever seen in a hotel bathroom if you can even call it a vanity. I had work to do on my laptop and there was no desk chair. Sandman do better, be consistent with your rooms. Room 427 not worth 192!!! This WAS my go to for family and business, but given the recent room and poor service at check in, I won’t be back! Save yourself disappointment and book at the Marriott in Stonebridge at least their rooms are worth the price!!
We normally have enjoyed stays here, but the room we got this time wasn’t close to our expectations. Stains on the ceiling; stains and burn marks on furniture; air conditioning had thick dust in, and on, vents and ductwork. The view from the 3rd floor is partially obstructed by asphalt roofing. Unless the hotel is sold out, why would you give someone this room? In fairness to the hotel, we were offered another room, but we were already unpacked and in bed when they called.

Myself, my fb & his brother booked two rooms for a family funeral. My bf’s other brother & his gf, who arrived a day after we did, requested a room close to us. They were simply told “no”. Not “I’m sorry, there isn’t anything available.” Just “no”. They were also charged $13 for parking while we were not! You could tell it’s an older hotel but has been renovated nicely. It was very clean and the bed was comfy, which is most important. We were not in the West Wing, but in the main hotel. Was quiet as well, also important. We found the room warm but you could not open a window. Just a small slat could be opened at the bottom of the window. It did not provide much relief but we were comfortable enough. The bathroom did not have a fan! Nice Irish pub 20 steps from the hotel lobby. Very nice restaurant off lobby as well. Over all it was an ok stay, but wasn’t impressed with how our other family member was treated, so wouldn’t stay here again.
My sister and brother in law used this hotel for everyone to stay during their wedding! Such a great experience! When checking out the staff went out of their way to help us with our small family!!! Very much appreciated!
We stayed at Staybridge last night and as always the visit was perfect. No complaints regarding staff, room, amenities, breakfast, or comfort. Our only issue was that upon check in we discovered we had no cups, no spoons, and no forks in our room. I called the front desk and was told they would be up shortly. They weren't, so when we went out for dinner I stopped at the front desk and reported it again. She obviously did pass on our concern because when we returned we had 3 styrofoam cups, and some plastic spoons and forks. I would expect that from a budget inn, but not when we were paying over $200 a night. On another positive note, we used the shuttle in the morning and really appreciated the convenience and promptness of the driver. It was a young lady and she was wonderful. We will return.
I stayed here for two nights because I wanted to stay in a place downtown that wasn't a chain. Some positives were... 1. Very nice lobby, you can literally feel the history in the air. The hallways are extremely wide for a hotel and have old couches and chairs. It kind of takes you back in time. 2. Walking distance of practically everything. We rented a car and we didn't even use it. We also walked to the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, the Prairie Lily, as well as walked through a lot of Saskatoon's riverfront parks. 3. Winston's Pub, that connects to the hotel, has 76 beers on tap. I went there every night and it was awesome. It's also historic-looking in it's own right and really made staying here fun. 4. I never used it, but there was this awesome patio on the second floor that gave you a nice view of the city. Then some negatives... 1. You can't get around it -- Saskatoon does have a homeless problem. But so do most North American cities and the homeless in Saskatoon never bothered me. That being said all the doors are locked at all times and when you first get there you have to ring the bell to let you in. I admit, this was a little intimidating but once I got my key card I could just use it whenever I went through the door and it was no longer a problem. 2. The hotel could use some updating. The lighting wasn't the best in the bathroom and there weren't a lot of places to hang towels and whatnot. Then some neutrals... 1. Parking is quite limited, but they do warn you on the website. I was able to park there fine and nobody bothered my car (unlike what I saw in other reviews). Just don't leave anything in your car that's worth taking and you should be fine. 2. The breakfast is nearly non-existent. That being said, I didn't recall the website telling me there was a breakfast so it wasn't a big deal. Additionally, I didn't decide to stay downtown just to eat a generic hotel breakfast. There are plenty of breakfast spots around (if during the week) and I found this bakery that had a really good breakfast. Overall, I gave them 4/5 mainly because of the 2 issues I mentioned above. Don't let other reviews dissuade you, I really enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again if I was in Saskatoon.
Stayed one night while passing through. Decor is modern and up to date. Room was overall clean, and spacious (we had a standard king). Shower was large and had great water pressure. Carpets were clean and I felt comfortable walking with bare feet. The pool was good -water was very warm which was nice since there was no hot tub. Things to improve upon: I wish it had a mini fridge and safe. While the room was overall clean, there were a few scuff marks on the entry way wall that just needed a Magic Eraser. The pool tile around the edge (just above the waterline) was grimy (you could scrape your fingernail through it). The pool bottom was fine (i.e. not slimy or gross/disgusting). I would still come back and stay here again - just a bit more elbow grease is needed in some areas.
This hotel works hard to provide customer service. From the housekeeping staff to the waitress at the Irish pub, the front desk staff and our lovely waitress in the restaurant for brunch as well as the chef who was frequently checking in with customers, we had a wonderful stay.
My girlfriend and I went earlier this year to a funeral for her aunt who passed away. Anyway we ended up staying here because there weren't a ton of options. Needless to say we weren't expecting much, but I have to say we were totally impressed. This hotel went way beyond our expectations. The customer service was phenomenal and the rooms in great shape. We definitely recommend.

BBirdie13My favourite part of this hotel is the inside garden, the walkways to the restaurant and pool are very pretty. The garden cafe has an amazing breakfast poutine, and the in house starbucks bar was super handy. The staff are all polite. The conference rooms are very cute too, they look like little window shops, which even though we didn’t use them, they were cute. Staff was friendly at all hours of the day. Showers had amazing pressure and lots of hot water. 10/10 would recommend and will be coming back
GGuest UserThe front desk went out of their way to be helpful. I was quite sure I reserved a room with 2 Queen beds on their website, but to my surprise the reservation said 1 bed. After some back and forth, they were able to get me a room with 2 Queen beds. The room was a good size with the 2 beds, a desk, a good size closet with safe and TV and refrigerator. The bathroom wasn’t large but was good enough with enough counter space for toiletries. The room was clean. The carpet was a little outdated. The outside, out back parking was convenient. I ate breakfast in the restaurant 3 times, each time ordering something different, and all choices were very good. I was told by locals that their Carver steak house is one of the best in Saskatoon. The hotel is in a great location – numerous restaurants are right around the corner and the river is just across the street. It is also a fairly easy walk (maybe 15 minutes) to the downtown that is across the river (down the bridge on Broadway) as well. All in all, I’d stay here again – but if I’ll be sure to check my reservation to make sure what I thought I reserved, is what I reserved.
MMcKenzieHad a great stay! The neighbours weren’t noisy at all, nobody roamed the hallways late at night, and the service was great. You are able to adjust the room temperatures fairly quickly, the shower head had great pressure (as well as the toilet LOL), and they provide a lot of towels already in the room! The beds were comfy, different fluffiness of pillows, and comfortable bedding. Kids had fun at the water slide/hot tub, lots of parking spaces available, and good food. Definitely recommend this place since it has great pricing as well!
GGuest UserI was booked here for 4 nights for a conference. We ended up having a staffing emergency that I found out about just hours before I was supposed to leav (due to a coworker having COVID) for Saskatoon. I called the Bessborough and told them that I was unable to come or else our department at the hospital was at risk to close some services. They refused to waive the cancellation fee. I understand it was my issue cancelled that close to check in but I have had other hotels waive the fee in the same situations since they are extenuating circumstances. I asked if I could rebook my 4 nights instead of being charged the fee and they said they would have to pre-charge my card. Very disappointed in the Bessborough's rigid policy and unwillingness to be even a little bit flexible. I would definitely book with a different hotel next time that is more understanding.
YYONGQINGWestern-style breakfast, basically the same. No extra beds and free parking. When staying in Canada, except for Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, locations need to be considered. Other cities rarely need to consider location. Take Saskatoon as an example, passing through the city in ten minutes! !!
It's a little dated but clean and comfortable with friendly staff. I stayed for 5 nights during the heat of July and Ag In Motion. Easy to get to places from this location. Every day I came home hot and tired to find a tidy room with clean white towels. Felt safe and welcome. The free breakfast is easily an $18 deal at any major chain. The service at the on-site restaurant was excellent. Every meal I had was delicious and served promptly with a big smile. The daily specials don't disappoint- especially the soup of the day - creamy perogie soup tonight. Toylin had the kindest big smile. So nice to meet beautiful people that enjoy their jobs. Thank you for making my very long day of heat and frustration, end with a great meal and a chilled glass of white wine. Just what I needed. I would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant- close to the airport and minutes away from the major highways. Lots of parking, secure and safe.
CCindyWhen we here was a bit of a wait to get registered. The room was nice and very clean. It contained a fridge, microwave, coffee maker etc. However, it did not contain a phone book. Free wifi was available for the guest. The room did not contain a bath mat the tub, although a fair size, was quite slippery. I slipped twice while trying to shower. They provided breakfast which had a wide variety of good food. The hotel is pet friendly, it is my suggestion if you dont like pets go elsewhere. It is pet friendly that should indicate something. It was a fantastic place to stay over all.
GGuest UserMy wife and I needed a hotel within walking distance of St Pauls hospital. We needed a clean room at an affordable price. We were pleased with the adequate room and friendly staff. We will definitely be staying there again on our next trip. The staff gladly extended our checkout time as our hospital appt ran late. We would recommend this establishment.. Another bonus was the Blue Diamond restaurant right next door… Being able to walk to the hospital and avoid traffic and parking was also a plus
