"When we arrived in the morning, upon dropping off our luggage, one of the receptionists (woman with a bob cut) was extremely rude when I just asked what time we may return for check in. She rolled her eyes. The other staff are extremely kind, and one uncle even gave us recommendations on where to eat.
The room itself is comfortable. The bathroom tiles retain cold, so bringing bathroom slippers is recommended. The comforter/duvet is extremely thick, so AC must be at max to sleep comfortably.
The room comes with free thin disposable slippers, coffee/tea, tissue, shower gel, shampoo, and towels. There is free snacks in the lobby at night time (but they do not announce it). Free water dispenser as well on every floor and the lobby. Friday night also welcomes a small band who plays music and sings. They are very talented.
It is in a prime location near the train stations, Liuhe Night Market, and a nearby Central Park. I recommend going to the park to see wild animals like squirrels and pigeons as shown in my photos."
"We had a wonderful stay at Royal Fine Hotel in Kaohsiung City. The location is great — just about a 400m walk from the train station, which made getting around really convenient. The reception staff were incredibly nice and attentive, and we loved the free snacks and drinks available in the welcoming area. There’s even a laundry room on Level 2, which was super helpful.
Our room was clean and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised to find complimentary snacks waiting for us. The shower was spacious, and the water pressure was amazing.
We’re sorry we don’t have hotel photos to share, but here are some pictures of the city instead. We truly enjoyed our stay every night!"

"The hotel is genuinely good, and the facilities are also excellent. Its biggest advantage is being very close to the subway. If I had to pick something that wasn't super convenient, it would be the lack of many dining options nearby."

"The room was very clean and well-equipped. It had local outlets, USB ports, and even a multi-purpose socket that accommodates European plugs, including UK three-pin types. There was also a lighted makeup mirror.
This hotel operates on a passive cleaning system, meaning guests need to request cleaning or replenishment of consumables. Most larger hotels, however, proactively clean rooms and restock supplies unless a 'Do Not Disturb' sign is activated.
Check-in is at 4 PM, which is a bit later than the 3 PM standard at most hotels and inns."

"The hotel rooms are spacious and well-appointed. However, most of the wooden floorboards creak when walked on, the pillows are a bit firm, and the duvet is quite thick. I stayed on the 23rd floor this time, and the view directly overlooking the harbor and sea was incredibly pleasant. The hotel is also conveniently located, just a 10-minute walk from both the MRT and light rail stations."

"Advantage:
Nice location. 3-4 Mins walk to Dayi Warehouse and LRT. 10 Mins walk to Yanchengpu busy area.
The room and bed is comfortable enf though. Room is small but the design layout is good. The place for putting the luggage is perfectly fit for a 30 inches trunk. And there are shelves for other personal belonging as well.
Cleanliness is good too. There are micro wave and washing machines on B1.
Disadvantages:
Staff usually wear a poker face. After knowing your little special request like High Floor, better view, They simply ignore your request by not listening. And then still use the Emachine to random assign for you. Fair enough though, everyone is random. Chit chat at the counter but rarely greet any guest. Perhaps hospitality shouldn’t be applied on this 3 star budget hotel.
Soundproof super weak. Fully clear of what next door is saying. Not quite friendly for couples :)
The phone is just a decoration and an alarm clock. There’s no way to contact the FO except going down.
Conclusion: Value for money. Overall had a pleasant stay in there. Still will be the first choice to stay in Yanchengpu."

"A truly excellent experience. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the afternoon tea and late-night snacks were also very good – the best part is they're all complimentary. Although the room rate was a bit high, getting three meals included made it incredibly good value for money. The room itself was clean, but the soundproofing could be better."

Jjennysn_cnThe facilities are brand new and impeccably clean. The room was huge, and they even provided complimentary tea and small snacks. Do note, however, that the hotel does not offer free disposable slippers or toothbrushes, so plan accordingly if you need them. Qianjin MRT Station is conveniently located just 20 meters downstairs, and a 7-Eleven and supermarket are only a short walk away. Liuhe Night Market is also nearby, along with a fantastic bar called 'Wusheng de Suozai' (The Silent Place). Additionally, there's a delicious 'Alley Entrance Rice Ball' (巷口饭团) shop conveniently close by. Given the price, it truly exceeded all my expectations.
GGuest UserLove the vibe of the hotel. It was a bit confusing in the beginning as they taxi driver dropped us at a dead end road. But once we saw the hotel, we were in awe.
The once abandoned warehouse looked well renovated. We got the terrace quadruple loft. It was a nice space for 2 adults and 2 kids (below 5yo). The room was well decorated and feels luxurious. Kids definitely love the loft and the bath tub.
The cons about the room were:
- when people goes up and down the loft, it is a little noisy.
- there’s no day curtain, so we didn’t dare to open the windows too wide (people outside probably can see us)
- since the location is very close to the KLR station, you can hear the train passing by (just slightly)
Hotel facilities are okay. There’s no breakfast but the reception has a google maps of food (breakfast brunch etc) nearby. Staff are polite and friendly.
The reception is 24/7 i think, there’s 2 laundry rooms with 1 washing machine and dryer each. Both are coin operated and you can to purchase the laundry pods from the reception. There’s snacks in the lobby, water dispenser for cold, warm and hot water on every floor.
The location is right in front of the Kaohsiung Light Rail Line Penglai Pier 2 station. Easy to hop on, just need 20NTD coins. It’s close to the Hamasen Museum of Taiwan Railway and Pier2 art centre (where Wooderful land is). The area is surprisingly quiet and close to a few children playgrounds.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would enjoy coming back to this hotel again.

KKajieerClean and hygienic, with fully automated check-in/check-out. It felt very welcoming. Breakfast was served in a sunlit room with a great variety of food. Although it's surrounded by older shops, it has a charming vibe, like a new building in an old district. The transportation is very convenient, and it truly felt like a safe place to stay. Loved it! The fact that there's a rock climbing gym or park just a ten-minute walk away is a fantastic bonus.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located. MRT Exit 11 is closer, but for guests with luggage, Exit 1 is the only one equipped with an elevator. The room was spacious, and the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom were excellent! If you choose to skip daily room cleaning but still require fresh towels, it seems you need to specifically inform the front desk. It would be much more convenient if they had a system like some other hotels, where you can hang used towels outside your door for replacement. The air conditioning was a bit inconsistent; the 'MED' setting seemed stuck at 25°C, and even on 'HIGH', it didn't feel cool enough. Breakfast is vegetarian, so meat-eaters, please take note! Overall, it's a good choice, and I would consider staying here again.

CCrabisgood888Overall the hotel was very nice. It was modern. The check in staff was very helpful and at least one person on staff always spoke English. Note that the staff at breakfast were super cute older ladies and they don't speak English.
Pros: Modern design. Newer hotel. Large beds (stayed in a standard quad room). The twin bed rooms were also bigger and nice. The shower was really great. It was super high pressure. Bidet for the toilet. Big bathrooms. You can turn on the vent and dry clothes that you hang to dry. The 13th floor area is nice with snacks through the afternoon and evening and coffee. They provide free sparkling water and regular water for the rooms. Very well designed with great storage since there wasn't much floor space.
Cons: Location wasn't really next to many food areas. There's a Starbucks. You have to walk around 5-10 min, which is fine, but it's not the usual vibes you would imagine having in Taiwan. Unlike Taipei, the city is a sleepy town. A lot of businesses are just randomly closed during work hours and regular business days. There is a 7-11. The night market nearby is small. The breakfast needs a little help. After 2 days, it's the same food over and over. We were there for 7nights, so you can imagine it was a bit tiresome. I hope they can provide more variety. Even the soup only changed once. So 6 breakfasts it was miso soup. 1 breakfast was a corn soup (good, but never came back). Another major con is the hotel has no direct email address, so you can't contact them directly. I had to speak with the Leisure group hotels via FB messenger. They never responded via the Line App.
We chose this hotel because it's newer and had the room arrangements that we needed for our group (12 rooms). Big buses can wait outside for you. You can't make much noise in this hotel. We got warnings every day and that was just when we were hanging out in the lobby waiting for the elevator.
Overall the hotel was good value and great for a soccer team since we had the 13th floor for our team meetings and for hanging out at night.
JJazz S.Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel and actually preferred our Kaohsiung stay here compared to our time in Taipei. Check-in and check-out were fast and efficient—maybe an East Asian thing where they get straight to the point—but the staff were still warm enough to make us feel welcome. The location is very convenient, just an 8-minute walk to Kaohsiung Main Station, which made getting around the city much easier.
Although the hotel doesn’t have an elevator, it wasn’t a problem since we stayed on the 3rd floor and the stairs weren’t steep enough to feel exhausting. Our room was clean, and I really appreciate that there were no bed bugs (something I heard can be an issue in some Taiwan hotels, so we made sure to check the mattress and beddings). Happy to report this one is safe.
We loved having a bathtub, and the provided shampoo and body wash smelled so good that showering felt like a treat every time. The air-conditioning was also well-maintained—we didn’t experience any problems adjusting the room temperature.
Facilities-wise, there isn’t much to explore since it’s a small hotel, but that was fine with us since we spent most of our time outside. During our stay, Typhoon Podul forced us indoors for a whole day, but the hotel’s sturdy structure made us feel safe. The water dispenser on the 2nd floor was also a lifesaver—something I think guests would really appreciate if ever stranded.
If I had to give some comments: the toilet can get a bit cloggy at times, so be mindful—it takes a while to flush down. They will let you borrow a plunger though so no worries. Also, the hallways had a faint smell of cigarettes, which I suppose is to be expected as smoking is still quite embedded in Chinese influenced culture.
All in all, a reliable place to stay in Kaohsiung.
