A SPECIAL NOTE: Please remember that you are vacationing in the Cloud Forest. We are near the Continental Divide and Costa Rica has multiple microclimates causing very unique weather patterns. There will be rain :) The "dry-er" season is December- April. We provide rain boots, swim shoes, umbrellas and rain gear for most adult and some child sizes. There will be wind (you will see beautiful windmills on the horizon over Lake Arenal.) The house sits at 2700 ft above sea level. If you wake up in a cloud with rain, it does not mean that you need to cancel your plans. It could be dry at the bottom of the road or in La Fortuna and vice versa. Weather apps are not very accurate in this area. :) Tours/activities will continue to run in the rain as long as it is deemed safe. Just call your tour provider. We recommend renting a small SUV style car for all driving in Costa Rica but it's especially good for exploring this area. You do not need a 4x4 to get to the house but a higher clearance vehicle such as a RAV 4 (frequently rented here) is recommended. When you turn off the main paved road, it turns into a groomed dirt/rock road. Most of CR does not have traditional addresses. We will send a location pin and all directions a few days before your arrival.There will be bugs outside that may sometimes get inside, especially if doors are left open and outside lights left on. Brief power outages are rare but sometimes occur in CR. We have flashlights, candles and a back up battery for the refrigerator. We have no control over these things but we have a full staff that are only a phone call away to help with anything you need. Upon booki
