We stayed here for two nights as we drove along the Alpine Route and couldn't have made a better choice, this is a charming Art Nouveau hotel with a lot of its original features intact. Now you will read many reviews that say it needs modernising and re-equipping but if you look beneath the surface you will see what a fine hotel this is. The service from every member of staff goes beyond what you will find in the chain hotels and that includes the youngest girl who waited at breakfast. They have the widest choice of quality tea (probably 20 different ones) that I have ever seen at any hotel that we have stayed at. Breakfast itself was excellent with a good selection of meats, cheeses, yoghurts, fruits etc and the bacon and scrambled egg was cooked to perfection, it's probably the first time in fifty years that I have had traditional bacon with the two little bits of bone in, great memories. The room itself was large and quiet, the bed comfortable and the shower worked well. I agree that some may think the rooms need modernising but we do not come to hotels to spend hours in our room, we tend to rise early and after breakfast we go out until we are ready for bed. There is so much to see and so little time. We did use the sauna on one evening and it was very good and hot 90-100C with room for four or maybe six people at a time but only one other couple used it while we were there. There is a cool relaxation area with four recliners and a couple of chairs but you can also go out into the garden area. We did not use the pool but several others were using it, again you can exit onto the garden. On the Saturday evening we ate at an excellent family restaurant about 100 metres away, unfortunately my wife left her handbag there with our passports in it. We were going back to Munich for a concert the following morning and returning late in the evening, we informed the reception of our problem. On our return at 3.30am Monday morning the night porter had my wife's handbag already for her. If we were passing through here again this is where we would stay without any shadow of doubt.
Stayed here as part of a group tour going to the Oberammergau passion play. The hotel is about a half hour drive from Oberammergau itself. The hotel at first seemed quite old fashioned with lots of wood and patterned carpets and a very rickety single lift. However the hotel is actually a very nice mix of old and modern. With a very nice seating area in the reception area and a nice bar area. Our room was on the 2nd floor, we did manage to squeeze 3 people into the tiny rickety lift, but it wasn’t easy. The only plus was at least the lift was fast. The room was nice with a separate seating area, the beds initially seemed soft, but actually were comfortable, the storage was good and there was a decent flat screen TV. There was also a safe, which I couldn’t initially get to work as there were no instructions, however I asked at reception for help and they sent housekeeping very quickly to show me how it worked. They also sent someone to change the pillows which were far too soft. The bathroom/shower room was very nice, obviously recently upgraded, it was very clean and modern with nice toiletries and bathrobes were included. We had a very nice balcony which would be nice to sit out on, unfortunately we had no time (or energy) to do this. The restaurant is on the ground floor, with a nice selection on the menu which we enjoyed. The staff were lovely very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in the conservatory area, which was frankly cold as breakfast was early and the windows were open as was the door. Breakfast was continental with some hot food, scrambled egg and one other hot side. The reason I’ve given 4 stars instead of 5 is there was no air conditioning in our room, the room was very hot, we left the window open of course, but that just let more hot air in, also the lift really was poor and breakfast was really quite chilly with windows and door open in the early morning.

This a very nice vintage style hotel in the best street of Pa area. The hotel staff is so friendly and courteous. Nice bar, nice restaurant too. We stayed for a night only but would have loved to stay longer. Rooms are big with super views, nice balcony and big bathrooms. Beds are comfortable. Before I booked I had read some reviews on old furniture/ furnishings.. but trust me, it’s very clean and well maintained. The hotel room has old style furniture but it is well maintained and very very clean. We booked a breakfast in advance and then did not have it as we were not hungry. The staff was ready to adjust it against any other F&B bill, which we think was amazing service. Finally because they were fully sold out for dinner, they refunded the amount in cash. Truly impressed with this.. Go for Atlas Grand Hotel.. you will love it.
Sooo dissapointed, we couldn't wait to leave this place. Nobody was waiting for us when we arrived, the old lady at the reception (located in the restaurant) looked irritated when she had to tend to us. We were given a wrong room. We booked a nice and quite new looking room on booking.com, but instead we were given an old and scruffy dungeon above the restaurant. After complaining we were moved to a different room in the attic which was full of dust and had a broken shower. Plus we had a daily challenge to get in and out of bed as it was located under the sloping ceiling. My husband kept on banging his head, it was quite dangerous and caused us a lot of stress. The pillows were a joke, tiny and small, decorative pillows that you use in lounge, but not in your bed for a good night's sleep. We also had single duvets so my husband and I couldn't sleep together. A double room for a couple with single blankets, SERIOUSLY? Our friends had the same problem. The towels were NOT changed even once in our 4 night stay, which we found repulsive. Hotel is also full of creapy crosses... Food at the restaurant was horrible, waiter couldn't even remember what we've ordered. We had to surf the menu ourselves to understand what was what. The cheese plate that we ordered was just shocking as it contained cheese from a discount shop and some was still in mono portion packaging. We couldn't believe it as next door was a great cheese shop. Access to the hotel was through the enclosed smoking area and the whole staircase stanck of smoke. WE ARE NON SMOKERS and very healthy people! It was disgusting and harmfulto our wellbeing. Seams that they haven't heard that smoking combined with COVID-19 is a deadly threat. The FFP2 mask will not protect you! Also, the Hotel is too far away from everything. 20min walk from the train station, 30min walk from Garmish centre. Ski lifts 5min walk to the bus stop + 30min ride to the lifts. Huge mistake to stay at this hotel. For a 110€/night and NO breakfast I am shocked to see so many positive reviews.
Hello Das Graseck team, as asked, I am sharing my opinion on our stay in your hotel. Almost everything was great, the staff, the facilities, and the room. The only disappointment was related to the restaurant. We ordered cocktails, nicely presented, however they each came with a plastic straw cut in half. I don't think that it matches the standard of your hotel. Switching to metal or glass straws would be an improvement, and also look nicer. The second point is regarding the 4-course menu. As asked during the reservation I mentioned that both of us are vegetarian. When the evening came, I was expecting a 4-course menu, with a starter, main dish, cheese and dessert, specially crafted by the chef and aligned to transport us gustatively, however it was not the case. It was rather a 'A la carte' menu. - The starter was with tomatoes, this is not a winter ingredient. - The crabs pea cream, was made vegetarian by removing the crabs. - Out of the three main dishes, one was with fish, one with meat and only one with grilled vegetables. That is a poor choice for a vegetarian person. An additional vegetarian choice would have been greatly appreciated. Most likely if you can eat fish, you can eat meat and vegetables, making you have a greater choice than just one dish. - The dessert, a 'fondant au chocolat' was not fondant. It was warm, slightly soft, but not fondant. In general the price of 25Euros for the menu, with so few choices for vegetarian is arguable. Adding another vegetarian dish and making it a real 4-course menu experience would better match the standard of Das Graseck. This will not prevent us from coming again in your cozy hotel.
We enjoyed a fantastic week in this beautiful, mountainous part of Bavaria and were particularly pleased with the quality of the Hotel Zugspitze. Its friendly staff made us most welcome, the cuisine was excellent, the facilities first class and we will book again. Thank you to all the staff, especially for going the extra mile and so efficiently and effectively returning one of our mobile phones that we accidentally left in our room - top class service even after we'd left!
Hotel Alpengruss was amazing! The rooms are recently renovated and absolutely beautiful. They are also very well soundproofed, if that is a concern. The owner family are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent! No need to post photos, because the ones posted by the hotel are perfectly accurate. I communicated a number of times via email from the US with Gabi and Ana prior our arrival and they were always responsive. We stayed in the Junior Suite, and I felt the rate was very reasonable, particularly considering the quality of the lodging and the breakfast.

Zugspitze
__TS***hkWent during Christmas and it was sunny with clear sky. The view from the mountain was stunning.
Linderhof Palace
Jjkidd28Ludwig II's only castle palace completed! The whole scenic spot is like a fairy tale world, every place is full of romance, walk through the paths, step into the garden, see the fountains high, enjoy the beauty of the palace!
Bavarian Alps
老老少皆宜(程世荣)Germany's Bavaria at the foot of the Alps has been Germany's granary since ancient times. It is fertile land, lush pastures, and is the main producing area for grain and livestock, so it is rich in goods and the market is booming.
Partnach Gorge
乖乖小咪The Partnach Valley in Garmisch is definitely a beautiful and primitive valley. The mountains here are towering and there are dense primitive forests. The air is full of oxygen ions, which is a natural oxygen bar. At the same time, the grassland here is also a famous livestock farm in Germany, with many cattle and sheep growing healthily here. The scenery is really charming.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen Alpenblick
YYukizungBeautiful, good weather, if there is a chance, you have to go once again.
Ettal Abbey
隨隨時出走Really beautiful Ettal church, free to visit. The tall and majestic Benedictine monastery is still in practice and still in use. It is a gorgeous baroque church. Be sure to see the wet murals inside the dome. There are distilleries, holding a bottle of wine before leaving, bookstores sell a lot of interesting books (in German).
