Much better than I had expected from the advert. Lovely hotel with character, convenient location close to port and only 2 minute walk to train station. Lovely well stocked bar. Will definitely come again.
I spent a night at the Logis Hotel Cottage on 23 April 2024 before my Eurotunnel journey from Calais to Folkestone. After a long and tiring drive on several autoroutes from Bordeaux in the Southwest of France, I received a warm welcome from Madame Mandy Caudrillier, the receptionist on duty, who quickly checked me into my room, which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Customer service was also very good in the bar and restaurant where I enjoyed one of the three daily items on the Table d'Hote menu - a delicious casserole along with some very nice red wine. For the price that I paid, and especially the hotel's close location to the Eurotunnel check-in, I was more than satisfied with the Logis Hotel Cottage.
What I liked: Good location: you can walk out, one minute and you're right near the intersection of the two main streets of Calais. You can walk to the main area of restaurants in about 8-10 minutes and see quite a bit along the way. The room was spacious. and clean and the front desk man was not only helpful but cheerful too. Also there is a bar at the hotel and breakfast area. I didn't have breakfast this time, but would probably do so next time. The aspects of the hotel I didn't like so much was the fact that the decor of the room is very bland. This probably doesn't matter much if you are just here for a night. Also with one window in the room (in the one I stayed in) there wasn't quite enough light. Depends on your point of view but at 72-75 euros per night I don't call this a 'budget' hotel as some others do. It's more of a mid-range. To me 'budget' means something more like the F1 or the Premiere Classe. A few other tips: Regarding the bar, if you want a 'flat white' or similar, don't make the mistake of ordering 'cafe au lait' as in Calais this actually means just an americano-style long cafe with some UHT milk on the side. What you want is a cafe creme. When I explained what I wanted, the barman/front desk man happily made an espresso coffe with steamed milk. Just around the corner to the left is Au Calice where you can sit outside with a coffee and watch the world go by. Which is always a good thing to do when you're in France. There is also a new 'cool' cafe called the Cafetoria right next to it.

We were travelling back to London from the Olympics and needed to stay in Calais to get Le Shuttle early the next day. We were worried about the lack of parking, and had put a note in the booking asking for a parking space. When we arrived we were told it was full, but when I gave my name they said that one of the spaces had been reserved for us (a €15 charge) - great :-). The room itself (216) was wonderful - it was on two levels with two single beds upstairs and a double bed / bathroom downstairs. Lots of windows and air conditioning too! Breakfast started at 6.00, which was great as we needed to leave at 6.30. A wonderful spread with an orange juice squeezing machine, a range of cheeses, pastries, breads, cereals, eggs to boil - a really good range. If our travel plans brought us to Calais again I'd book this hotel in a heartbeat.

Very Good
GGuest UserThis would be a 5* review if residents were stopped from smoking on the fire escapes at the end of the corridors. This results in the corridors smelling badly of cigarette smoke. Also fairly noisy with the fire doors opening and closing constantly. Fire escapes are simply that and not smoking areas. On the positive side this hotel is very clean with comfortable beds. The little bathroom has a good shower. The staff were very polite and helpful both at check in and check out. The car parking is free and secure which is a massive benefit when travelling with a car full of personal belongings. Stop the smoking on the fire escapes and you will change the poor reviews.
MMaria NizwaThis is an old hotel, parking is along the public road but the spacious, clean room and comfortable beds make up for it. We booked this hotel for our ferry to Dover the next morning, location is very convenient with so many good outlets just a couple of minutes away and near the ferry dock. Will stay again.
WWilliam LWe stayed one night after a late ferry crossing. Close to the port so it was very convenient as only a short drive. Clean and comfortable, just what we needed and a fair price. We had a nice beer on arrival. The breakfast buffet was fine but similar to another review the scrambled eggs ran out early!
The room was very much as I have experienced and expected in the past 30 years. Simple, straightforward and adequate for our single overnight stay. However, I was not prepared for anything other than a basic French breakfast and was totally gobsmacked by the simply superb breakfast buffet that we walked in to on the Sunday morning. It was, in my opinion, quite magnificent for a cold breakfast buffet. Having had a hotel garni for nine years in Hamburg, Germany, myself I am fully aware of the effort that goes into putting on such a stunningly attractive buffet. Everything looked and was as fresh as it could be and at €25.80 for two, really good value for money. Congratulations and thank you for giving us a wonderful start to the long journey ahead of us. We are certainly looking forward to the next visit!
TTatianaThe location is quite good but they made me wait more than half an hour to get into my room and I was the only one in line.
the premises smell too much of cigarette, I only stayed one night but had to buy air freshener. Everything was clean and breakfast was buffet style, breakfast was fine for me.
but they should fix the cigarette smell in the building since for people who don't smoke it can become quite uncomfortable.
