The view is worth it.

We stayed on a Sunday in June which was quiet.
The building is an older building so very creaky but that is very much part of the charm.

We stayed at this awful hotel from the 4th - 11th of October, on a coach holiday from the south west scottish borders with Telfords coach holidays (Newcastleton) Except for the downstairs main public areas, this hotel is filthy, shabby and in an awful state of disrepair. All our pillows were yellow sweat stained filthy stinking awful. the window curtains looked like stained rags of hessian, and were ill fitting. the bathroom was damp and mould spores on the ceiling, sink no plug, bath no plug, and shower just oozed out drips, it was so congealed with scales. The filthy cheap carpet was just that, and engrained with dirt, and loads and loads of black hair all over it. This was the second room, after which we were told no other rooms available, all booked up. Lift was not working, and after reading others experiences, it's been out of action for months!! The food was okay, with dinner being the best meal of the day. Breakfast, well if you ever get a breakfast like their site photos, then you'll have done better than us. 1/2 rasher of bacon, 1/2 a tomato, eggs, yes can have two!! Black pudding, a small tasteless barely cooked sausage, and washy baked beans!! However the whole place is terrible, different sets of stairs in all directions, with A4 paper printed signs here and there. The manager was arrogant, and beyond belief, very argumentative of you challenge him, and I did. the rest of the staff are hard working, and very helpful. This hotel seems to be indian ,managed and staffed, with some local staff here and there, but I do emphasize some!! most indian room staff spoke english very poorly, although smiling, you could tell they hadn't understood your questions, or requests. It took the hotel 2 days to change our filthy sweat stained pillows for new, and 3 days to clean our room carpet. none of the bedding was changed during our 4 night stay, I repeat none!! I urge any traveller to PLEASE consider other hotels, do not stay in this Loch Long hotel, or you'll be so bitterly disappointed !!!
Great to get back to the Tarbet Hotel. Great view from our spacious room towards the Loch and Ben Lomond beyond. Good location at the junction of the A82 for Fort William & Oban and A83 for Cowal & Kintyre destinations. Although we didn't dine there for our evening meal, we did have breakfast which was delicious.
Iβve been coming to loch lomand for over 15 years. The Lodge and spa is the best Iβve stayed at. You are welcomed with a warm smile. Throughout our stay the staff have been simply amazing. Our room was amazing like a mini suite cleaned every day and our view looked over the Loch and the views are simply stunning, whatever the weather. We had spa treatments and again the staff were friendly and knowledgeable the saunas and steam room were well looked after along with the facilities. My only gripe was the spa couldβve had a small swimming pool to enhance the experience. Food in the restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. So if youβre looking for a quite few days away in a stunning location and switch off from your day to day routine you need to stay here. We have already booked up for next April and canβt wait
A super good hotel for unexpected gains! ! !
The best hotel in the village! Super small and fresh! The decoration is very new and well maintained! The room is very warm! very quiet! Very comfortable to live! You can sleep very well! The hotel is very good to recognize, facing the town of Lomond Lake and Snow Mountain, the best hotel, the deer head sign is very good to recognize.
The front desk is very good, the town signal is not good, I taught the wifi password when I went in, and the front desk received it soon after Trip.com booked on the spot, the experience is very good!
Dinner and breakfast were great! The restaurant is simply fantastic in the holiday town!!! Scottish breakfast is so delicious!
If you are passing by here to stay in Lomond Lake, donβt miss this hotel! Super good!
It snowed overnight, and the town's silver wrapping was really beautiful!
The most worth mentioning is the breakfast of the π₯! It is made by the hotel restaurant itself, the family homemade! It's really delicious! It's better than any baking workshop in Europe! Missing this one really can't eat so delicious! highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay in the Red Maple self catering lodges at Forest Hills. The lodges were very spacious, clean and well equipped. The decor was cosy and quaint with a nostalgic feel. Beds were comfy and the view was stunning. We used the spa each day and the children loved the swimming pool, table tennis, play area and pool tables. The children also enjoyed picking a film from the dvd list at reception each night. Staff throughout the whole complex were pleasant and helpful. We received a very warm welcome when we arrived and throughout our stay. Stunning location and access to local mountains to explore. I was worried when my husband booked this as a surprise due to the previous reviews I had read but please ignore them. Forest Hills is a quirky, comfy and tranquil resort with a wholesome charm. We will be back.

The vibe and atmosphere at the Oak Tree Inn was amazing. The food was also a huge plus. I was less impressed with the room and bed, but it was still a fantastic experience. This seems like a popular hiking stop point for those on the West Highland Way trails. This inn has a wonderful outdoorsy vibe that was infectious! I highly recommend the food- both dinner and breakfast here. The dinner was one of my favorite meals in Scotland. The breakfast was very good as well. As for the room itself, I didn't find the bed to be very comfortable- personal preference. The room we stayed in had a very hard bed. The shower was extremely slippery, so it was actually quite scary to take a shower. Our TV didn't work, which ended up being ok because we were exhausted. (In fairness, we did not attempt to get help with the TV). I would stay there again, especially for the wonderful meals!
