Just got back from a golf and spa weekend as a group of 6. Reception service really good. Room was lovely. Bed was a bit hard for me but partner liked it (personal preference). The men had golf included and us women had the spa included. As far as I know, the lads enjoyed the golf course- preferred the PGA course over the Lake course. They did say it is a long walk especially if you’re older and less able- I would recommend buggies! The spa was lovely, provided with robes, slippers and a towel. We had a 50 min treatment included. I had the facial and back massage which was really relaxing! Bar service was brilliant. Drinks not too pricey unless you want cocktails. On to our 3 course evening meal we had included. You have a set menu if your 3 course meal is included in your package. Fair few things to choose from. The food was lovely- we had the steak which was really good and all cooked to our liking. Cannot fault the food at all, however, the service- although really friendly, it was extremely slow. Our table was at 8.30 and we didn’t leave the restaurant till gone 11.30, this wasn’t down to sitting talking- this was from waiting between each course. We were all so stuffed and as you can imagine wasn’t too pleased eating such a huge meal so late. We had breakfast in the morning which was buffet. The breakfast was spot on, help yourself to full cooked breakfast or continental (yogurts, cereals, pastries)- all yummy. The man who came round offering tea or coffee was really efficient and friendly. You can also help yourself to a selection of juices. Our second day although we weren’t allowed to go in the spa which we initially thought we had included, we could use the leisure facilities (wet facilities) including the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. We were able to shower after as you get given a towel. Overall we all really enjoyed our weekend!

This hotel was your typical travel lodge, clean and basic, it was in a great location, just off the motorway, I liked that it had usb connectors at the bed and it was a comfy bed, no restaurant on site. But lots within the attached services, what made the difference here was how great Debra was, she was so good, very friendly and helpful, thank you Debra

The bed was comfy and the shower very good. Unfortunately that’s where the good parts end. Room was ok, carpet not particularly clean and the room was not serviced. When I asked I was told that the beds were not made but towels and tea/coffee were replenished- this had not happened. We were all awoken at 5am with the unbelievable noisy bins being emptied. Food average and for a hotel not badly priced. Breakfast ok but little choice as far as healthy options were concerned.Staff very helpful and friendly on the bar but did not have a clue about drinks. Left white wine out on the counter so it was not cold and at £11 a glass this was not on. The bar was noisy in the evenings with loud music or sport on the screen so not relaxing at all. Overall this is set up for working people where the company pays for the stay so guest generally not too bothered about the quality of the stay. Would not stay again unless I had to on business.

Just returned from a 3 night stay, was in Cardiff for a family wedding. Have to say the staff were friendly, informative and very accommodating. Wedding was on Friday and the maltsters arms very kindly allowed us to have dinner with them on Saturday night, there was 18 of us!!! Hats off to the chef and kitchen staff for the most amazing food, from starters to desserts and delicious drinks and cocktails 5 stars. We would highly recommend the hotel to anyone. The manager sorry can’t remember your name, was friendly and helpful. Lastly to Ben for his hospitality and professionalism in helping to book us all in on Saturday night, it was a wonderful ending to all of our trip to beautiful Cardiff.
