Value for money. Friendly staffs with good service. Hotel hosts are always helpful. Strategic location. Beautiful lake view with cottages just beside Lake Toba. Food are delicious. Easy to get help to rent motorcycle. The most appreciated part was hotel gave us a warm pick up from the harbour. Weather are cold and the mountain views are spectacular. Highly recommended to stay in this well-equipped hotel.

Tuk Tuk Timbul is an ideal great value for money bungalow style hôtel with a mix of modern constructed and as well as traditional batak constructed bungalows, which are all ensuite and with views directly on the lake shore for beautiful panoramas. The staff are very amicable and easy to laugh with. The restaurant area is also on the lake shore with a comprehensive list of Indonesian and local stylised western food. Everything we tried was tasty with generous portions.

We booked 2 night for standard mountain view room, we got at first floor number 18. The room was clean, there are amenities (soap, shampoo, slipper, towel, coffe, tea, sugar, etc) safe deposit box and fan too. The bed comfortable, the staff and owner is honest and hospitality, many variance for breakfast. Hotel area is clean and i thought the swimming pool no chlorine cause the water is fresh. Just improved hot water inside bathroom sometime hot and sometime cold every 5 second maybe. Overall is very good and best value

Hospitality is different. The greeting was short and sweet. I was shown to my room without a word. Breakfast is only available upon request. Room cleaning was not carried out. In short, the location is great but not difficult on an island. I wouldn't go there again book .

Everything is a little slower and grungier today as tourist-oriented Indonesia still reels from their covid shut down and Bagus Bay is no exception. Don't expect 5-star accommodations but know that the staff are kind and helpful and even those who don't speak much English will try to help you figure things out. Sadly, the Wed/Sat Batak dances don't seem to be happening even though they are still advertised. Good value budget place with some beautiful (and some dull) architecture and rooms. Bring all your own toiletries, including soap, since those aren't included. It is a popular place with both local families and foreigners and the restaurant has tasty food.

GGuest UserIt's a new hotel, so there's construction going on all around it. I was very disappointed because I had to pay extra instead of getting a free upgrade to a larger room. It will be better next summer again.

GGuest UserThe service of this hotel is good as the concierge will help you with your luggage from the main land - Parapat onto the boat. The boat will then berthed right in front of the hotel and the concierge will carry your luggage right to you rooms. This hotel has also just completed some renovations therefore the rooms are quite new, clean and tidy. The shower room is spacious enough for 1 person to shower whilst another can utilize the sink area. Nice view from the hotel. Food is ok. No room service though and cafe/restaurant close at 10pm. You can also book the karaoke room up to 11pm if your love to sing. The amenities are so so but for the kids, there is a nice swimming pool with a pool bar that its not yet functioning when I was there. There's a water slide by the lake for the kids as well as foot pedal powered rides for the family to enjoy. Check out time is noon as that is also when the boat arrives to pick guests back to the main land and you have to be punctual.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located on a hillside/slope. The reception is on the top where one gets drop off. If you have mobility problem, its crucial to request for room on the lobby level. We were alocated a room facing the lake, on the lowest section. Its beautiful sunrise view and the water is few steps below our room. The issue is when we needed something (I was very sick), there is no tel /intercom in the room (or our floor level- nothing we seen). So one of us had to walked in the rain to go to the reception. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The room is sparse but with aircond and hot water shower. Perhaps the management will consider removing the white pendant light to replace with something softer for the eyes when one is in bed. Otherwise, the room is comfortable.
